Reviewer in general this gen are complete garbage in my opinion. Regardless of the game or the system it is filled with so many cry babies.


Theres some truth in what you speak, but it's not even that the maturity level has regressed, but what can be considered "professional" is very loose now in that industry.

...I think it's the realization that the core dem is small, and gaming is becoming mainstream is what hurts the most, lol.

 

I'll be first to admit I am having trouble making the transition. Other than a select few titles, JRPG are severely lacking this gen and it hurts me badly.

For the last 2 generations I was strictly JRPG with a couple othe genres thrown in like a God of War, Mario64 or Mario Kart. My PS2 collection alone stands around 50 JRPG titles out of the 70 games I own and another 30 or so on the PS1. I just can't find enjoyable gaming like that for me anymore and it sucks so damn much!!!!

Regarding your previous post, I feel you...I wish I know what happen with the Japan gaming scene, cause it definitely looks like jRPG's took the biggest hit from it. It's like now if you don't own a DS or PSP in Japan you'll get a splattering of RPG's on home consoles and thats bout it. The Wii is getting a few this year, but I don't know enough about them to say if they are any good. =p

...I have to admit I think that the days of the 30+ RPG maybe fading. =/ But, at least they are remaking the golden age RPG's so thats something right! Right? =D

 

Question for you...Are you worried, as I am, about whether or not SE has "jumped the shark" with their FF series? I'm scare that FF:CB, and FFXIII may not be what we're hoping for.

What I do hate are reviewers that pretend to be (ex) Sonic fans, pretending to know what a Sonic game ought to be.

Not to go off-topic, but I have been worried about Final Fantasy ever since FFXI.

Also off-topic: I have trying so hard for like the last 20 minutes to find a damn picture of Taco from SaGa Frontier. He was dubbed "Sir Taco" early in the game and I thought it would suit your username perfectly.

So now all Sega needs to do to create a perfect Sonic is take the gameplay of the Sonic Unleashed levels in which you play as Sonic and combine that with the graphics, sound, and presentation. Congrats, perfect Sonic game.
