Very nice sales! 370K in just a few days very nice!

The America sales probably wont be huge because it's only recording 2 days of sales for the week. But I'm still expecting 300K minimum in America, very good sales!

@Hyruken

So if I understand well you're counting £30 of profit for each copy sold? Sounds high to me.

But on the other hand do you expect a game, any game, to break even in 5 days to be called succesful? Shouldn't you instead calculate the lifetime sells it needs to break even? (2 to 3 millions I suppose)?

In Europe it's almost 2 days of sales too..

The Killzone2 PS3 bundle is for sale since 25 february, but the single game since the 27 february.

Unless we're positive of KZ2's budget, your point is moot at best. We need figures, not guesstimations!

I was hoping you would say :)

We'll we do have some official figures. Almost 3 years ago when the game was meant to be coming out with the console Guerilla gave an interview to Volkrant (main newspaper in Holland). On 28th November 2006 they said

"the game will cost more than the most expensive movie in the country, Black Book "

http://www.digitalbattle.com/2006/11/28/killzone-ps3-info/

At that point that meant $21m. So in almost three years and with the amount of delays it has had being pushed back, with 120 programmers working on it we can assume those costs increased not decreased.

So the final numbers we will know when they release their company notes to the stock exchange. But until then it looks unlikely the game will have brought Sony any profit, in fact if the $60m number is true (very doubtful) then they could be making a huge loss on this one.

Killzone 2 is selling all right, but with an approx 80 Million dollar budget, they need to sell like 8 Million copies to make a profit!

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

General preliminary consensus appears to be that in Europe the title has done quite well, but failed to meet lofty expectations, and that the console sales boost didn't match hype.

Of course, this could change.

Fail? Tell me Starcraft, what was your purpose in your first post?

He made similar "this is disappointing" comments on the homepage. :/

Personally I wanted 400k, so this about does the job.
