Forums - Gaming - Does buying a game does give you the right to be CRITICAL of it?

Most of the time....I would say Yes it's ok.

However I have a friend. Huge, HUGE 360 gamer, however his 360 red ringed lately and his girlfriends PS3 is all he has left. (Their both huge gamers but each love different systems. Kinda cool)

Lately he bought Fear 2 and Killzone 2. In his opinion Fear 2 > Killzone 2. Ok it's his opinion but I can't help but think he only likes Fear 2 more since it is a multiplatform. All he does is bitch bitch bitch about the game and states it has done absolutly horrible for an FPS. What really makes me think he's just bitching about it is he says the AI is among the worse he's ever seen.

When your just own it to troll it doesn't work.

The J Man has a point.
Now, how long will it be before the People demand to see proof of purchase before they accept some dudes ramblings I wonder?

That said, although no game was, is and ever will be perfect, at least I've had some good times with my purchases. Some better than others though.

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

I think that the dude who keeps referring to himself as j man because of some personality disorder has to read the post made by the one possibly referring to a star trek persona because he not only tells the "i like to talk about myself in the third person because it makes me special"person pretty much what it's about, but also what the self-mentioning J boy did wrong in his OP.

Are you aware that nobody has any idea what the hell you just said? Wait, let me try.

So J-man needs to read a post by...Squilliam? Where?

Who is this Star Trek persona of whom you speak?

yes, I'd say so. If you've never played it shut up about it. ICO was horrible.

It gives you the right to praise and criticise it, to say that you disliked or even hated it.

It does not, however, give you permission to refer to the game as "Failzone" and start spamming this wonderful new word you have created everywhere. It does not give you permission to state your opinion as a fact. It does not give you permission to say that everyone who likes the game is a fanboy.

I've seen all three of these, from different people.

But his review had none of these , he just gave his review on what he played and there is nothing wrong with that.

Whatever he does after is of no concern to the J man but the J man sees where hes coming from.

Although his review was perfectly valid , even though it was negative , does not make him a troll and yet that was exactly what he was called.

Ouch. That was kinda random!

Anyway, anybody is allowed to give an opinion, there's no requirement other than playing the game (if it's gameplay issues), or even just watching it on youtube (for visuals). Just give people the context of where you're coming from so they understand how informed you are.

I've bitched about KZ2 controls even though I've only played the demo, it's fine as long as people know this. However, since this is the current game of the moment, those who bash it will be labeled trolls, and those who defend it will be called fanboys... that's just how it goes.

Calling Killzone Failzone is trolling, just like calling Halo Gaylo is trolling.

It's one thing to dislike a game. It's another to post ZOMG FAILZONE! in every thread which is even slightly related to the game.

idk.... i bought bioshock and thought it was a straight out average game (85/100) and people flamed me for not saying it was an AAA game.

i try to be as unbiased as possible when I rate stuff too

@OP: I agree with the J man, I hate when I buy crap, and when this happens I do my harshest critics, as well as I hate when a game I like is partially ruined, or even slightly tainted by avoidable flaws. And I say and write it, although if I like the game I criticize I'm always clear saying that IMHO qualities justify the buy despite flaws. Constructive criticism is beneficial to quality, always, only blindest fanboys can't accept it.
