Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Yesterday, for the first time since November 19 2006, I saw....

A Wii for sale! Actually my local Target had like, 3 Wiis. It was amazing, awe inspiring, etc. I guess it was Monday though, which is right after Sunday (the supposed shipment date usually)... Has anyone else been seeing them in stores more often? Seems like I have been looking for the past 9 months, and that was the first one I saw readily available. Maybe they increased shipments for Metroid?

First, leo-j reserach shows us that girls do not like the Wii.

Now, they are available after a 9 month shortage

ONOZ TEH WIIZ DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED.

Nope. I asked my local GameStop today about their Wii supply while buying MP3, and they said they sell out within fifteen minutes of the shipment, thirty minutes being the max.

Something does appear to be going on at Target -- I saw three in the case the Saturday before last. Maybe they've broken out of the "put 'em out on Sunday and they're gone" cycle, or maybe supply is finally catching up with the slower summer demand. It's also possible Nintendo has shipped out more consoles in anticipation of Metroid Prime 3 attracting more hardcore gamers to the system.

It doesnt matter, Ive seen wii's from 2 or 3 months ago in best buy, they will sell out eventually. They never last for more than a day, the next time I go there arent any.

We're not going to see anything real interesting with Wii supplies and sales until somewhere between mid-November and Black Friday. Then we will see if Nintendo can increase the Wii supply so as to stay ahead of the PS2 in terms of sales since release date. But if they can't triple to quintuple the weekly supply for the holidays, they're going to be in trouble.

-Manella: Yeah... sux0rz! I hate missing out on food...
-Maya: Nick... what does "Sucksores" mean?
-Phoenix: No idea...

Not another one of these treads! (Heck, I think I said that the last one too...)

To EEPiccolo: Yes, if Nintendo can only make another 1M Wiis a month worldwide for the remainder of 2007 that will leave them with about 15M sold in about a year's time. Quite a horrible fate -- and quite possibly still in first place.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

Nintendo would be stupid as hell if they dont ship an insanely huge shipment for black friday.

I don't think they need to sell 800k-1m WW per week every week during the holidays to be considered successful.  Although it is not impossible for them to achieve those kinds of numbers.

To Each Man, Responsibility

we have had wiis regularly at our local store

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B
