For example.
I remember trying out GTA1 on the PC, my friends were going crazy over the prospect of buring random people on the street, but I personally thought that the game got old quick and went back to playing Diablo.
Then, by the time I found out about GTA3, everyone was playing it and it was getting rave reviews. My friend also showed me a trick where the main character went to get laid by a hooker, killed her afterwards and took the money back. I thought it was pretty funny, but when I tried the game for myself, I found it to be pretty boring and baseless.
Finally, when GTA4 hit. Rockstar promised major character development, a good story, and fun combat. I got caught up in the hype and gave GTA yet another chance by buying the game. Long story short, I found the game to be somewhat of a nuisance. The missions were very much alike and the whole relationship idea was tedious. Needless to say, I won't be giving GTA4(part2) or GTA5 another chance.
