yeah this is th second time.. the first ps3 was a 40 gig.. one of the first gimped PS3s

I got it for xmas along with the 2 year extended warranty then the bluray burnt out after about a month..

I took it back to walmart and got a refund but I kinda figured I would still have a warranty because I never got a refund for my two year extended one..

so I just put in a hundred and got an 80



Predictions.

1. Wii will never reach 50% market share.

2. Kz2 will sell 1.3 first week 3.5 LT.
Sales predictions for 09.

Wii - 69 - 72
PS3 - 32 - 34
X360 - 39 - 41

You figure a company that's in the state that sony is in would want to keep their customers happy for repeat business..

 

if sony had a defective rate of 33%...i think sony would do the same...but when ur one of the .2%...i dont think that matters too much...especially when ur out of warranty...if your ps3 broke during warranty..they would have gladly fixed it for you...go back to a car dealer and ask them to fix then engine after ur warranty runs out..same thing...ask MS to fix the RROD after the 3 years warranty...they wont fix it...u can add me to the list of people calling you childish and naive too if you want...but that is what you are in my eyes..

Actually my friends 360 just went out and his warranty is up. When he called MS they didn't even ask about the warranty and sent him a coffin for his xbox no questions asked.

Also considering its the second time its happened to him he has a very legitimate reason for being mad. The second time my 360 rrod'd I demanded MS recompense me in some way so they sent me  a free wireless controller.

Join the club! I haven't liked them ever since they released the ps1 1st generation that overheated/skipped right after the warranty ran out. I will never buy a single Sony product ever again. Oh and I can't wait till Killzone 2 is a few months old so people will stop making crappy threads about it.

Well you can be like me and commemorate the day.

SONY refused to pay me back for the $10 a month they charged me on the 3rd of every month for SWG (Star Wars Galaxies) when it first came out and because of problems with THEIR servers I wasn't able to log on and play. They refused to refund the money. So every 3rd of the month is monthly Hate SONY day for me.

(This is just one of the reasons I hate them, but this one is a fun story)

if it wasn't faulty then everyones would burn out after a year..

obviously the system had something wrong with it to cause it to mess up so soon.

 

If it's the second time it's happened maybe you're the problem and not the console...



@jesus, if you can make a Nintendodomination logo that looks like the original Nintendo red logo I would definitely switch it to that.

On topic: Sony has always had flaws with their systems, especially the 1st generations. PS1 1st generation had the overheating issue, PS2 1st generation had DVD drive problems, and not too sure what the main problem was with PS3 1st generations (maybe the blue ray drive). They seem to be getting better each system released since less 1st generation systems aren't as defective. I think the PS1 when it first came out only had a 6 month warranty not too sure. They lost me as a consumer though and any electronics company knows there will be defects so it is best to try and treat the consumer as best as they can. I think in the future most electronics companies repair/call centers will treat consumers even better since they are realizing that 1 or a few bad memories will mean a loss of that consumer from their products possibly for the rest of the consumers life.

I heard Nintendo is usally quite nice regarding repairs. Whether it's true or not I don't know.

 

 

My Wii was from a few months after launch, has been out of warrenty for over a year, and they repaired it for free, fixed the faceplate my friend dented on my Wii, plus extended my warrenty.  That's good service I'd say.

I never had a console die on me. Though my PS1 has some reading issues.....



You're not going to pay them to repair it or buy a new one are you?
