He's obviously joking, although it's true that price cut rumours will hurt PS3 sales until a cut actually happens.

I actually read the everything in the OP, and then after finding out half the hyperlinks point to Bruce on Games I immediately forgot everything written, so now I have nothing constructive to add anymore.

this article is like a politicians speech, its all random bullcrap and then goes to were it all started and asks the questions he is supposed to be the one answering.

This thread is pointless.

The PS1 and PS2 got over their rocky starts so it's hardly too late for the PS3. The real problem for the PS3 is Sony's financial woes.

I don't want to take credit away from Sony, but Sony's moves, especially with the PlayStation 1, were more common sense than genius. It was more about the fact that SEGA and Nintendo lacked common sense, the common sense to embrace the cheap, viable CD format, or the common sense to build a platform that was developer friendly, that helped Sony rise to the top. The PS2 didn't really have a rocky start, it certainly had a weak launch lineup, but it had the hype seven ways from Sunday, and merely had to crush the Dreamcast and secure a dominant market presence before the GameCube and Xbox rolled around.

The PlayStation's victory was about common sense and luck, the PS2's victory was about timing and luck. Which isn't to say that Sony doesn't deserve praise for common sense, but the PS3 generation is the first time where Sony's competitors are on the ball and doing things right.

can't believe I read this

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
