@ mrbubbles, though you can select every unit on screen, when I was playing through the tutorial and the story mission in the demo, there was no way of just, say, selecting two marine squads if there were also several warthogs on screen

you could group them all and press the (right trigger maybe) and it cycles through what you have selected.  and it will move or attack with just those.

There is certainly no equivalent of Ctrl + Click

perhaps...but it also automatically groups units...  like if you seperate units into 2 groups you can switch between them with the right dpad button, and i thought that was neat.

edit...actually...are you sure about that?  i tried the demo out last week, but i think i was able to do the equivalent of that.

i have long since given up on reviews. Both these games are amazing. And they both deserve an 8 or 9.

Long Live SHIO!

all teletext reviews are shit. mgs4 was a 7 out of 10

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

i have to agree with the KZ2 one its not to far off, dont know anything about Halo wars

there wright KZ2 doesnt do anything new for the FPS genre it might of if they left the cover system in MP and left the blind fire in as well

besides a tacky cover system in the SP it feels the same as all past FPS games going back to the mid 90's a guy with a gun in his right hand moving around and killing things

weres the BEEF in the gameplay FPSs need a good cover system they all feel dated compared to gears and uncharted gameplay we need to be able to roll or dive from cover to cover while in the FP view, blind fire like the enemy AI is able to do in KZ2 but mysteriously not the main player WTF is that, while in cover the ability to look around urself

i can get the same feeling gameplay wise from the original doom on the pc but can u say that for gears or uncharted NO no game b4 them had that type of feel and freedom

To be specific its relatively slow movement, realistic damaging modelling (i.e. one or two shots and you're dead) and an emphasis on cover is most reminiscent of Black or F.E.A.R.

Saw that and stopped reading.....he's trying to lower the game.....for realism? Wow, what a tard

well...for one hes complaining that the game feels old(in the sense that its been done before and doesnt bring anything new).

and secondly...a lot of people dont like shooters where they get hit one or 2 times and die.

Maybe you should try reading it again and actually reading it this time. He's talking about why it's old hat, not saying that realism is inherently bad.

I highlighted that as one of the good points... I think he likes that about the game.

He was criticising it for being like other older shooters when the hype surrounding it suggested it was some kind of revolution, but he wasn't saying it's realism was bad.

But as impressive as the visuals undoubtedly are, with a laudable attention to detail, it's all of things we've seen a hundred times before.

To waste such incredible technology on better looking grey corridors is proof of a criminal lack of imagination.

Y'know, when I read things like this, I have to wonder if the person reviewing played more than 45 minutes of the campaign. I've said this another thread, but orange is by far the most dominant colour in the game.

Also, the art direction is phenomenal. Some of the best I've ever seen. Lack of imagination my fanny >_>

Is that fanny as the Americans use it, or as the British use it... I am never sure one which side Australians stand for things like this.
