ROFLOL...there's a wealth of ggreat games for the PS3, so fanboys of the consoel can ignore "hater" developers.

i don't think that's it, at all i think it has more to do with Developer's telling people what their experience has been, and people not viewing the experience with importance, because people on the game's forum tend to compair game development studio's. which i don't think is Quite fair due to the fact that yes some studio's are going to be better than other's that's just a fact of life. but it make's it no less viable to listen to what each Developer has to say about their Experience.

which only make it more subjective about what each developer was able to atain. with what experience they had ..at that time

it then become's fuel in an argument on the internet forum's which system, is better..which once again is subjective in context of who you talk too, or what kind of experience that person has had with the system.

I agree with a lot of what you said.

Opinions of the devs clearly varies on this topic. Some say it's easy, some say it's difficult to work on the PS3.

I must admit that I don't think it's that important because I am not in a position say one way or the other. I am more concerned about the result than the work that has gone into a game.

In some kind of sadistic way I prefer them to work harder for my money (of which they get  a high % when I purchase a game). I work hard enough for it.

lol..i also like developer's that work hard for their Money..Some developer's it seem's put all their best effort, and people still say their effort was not good enough for them. LOL i can see how they may be a little contrite to that OPINION because most of the DEVELOPER'S would most likely

say..if your so skillful come and make a game Big boy..:D. Every Developer has skill level's and ,some it take's more time, other's it's not Too, Hard..And some of the DEVELOPER'S i could see, say D@mn that look's ,and play's great..my game just suck's compared to that...what tool's did you use again. lol

anyway , i think In my Opinion so many gamer's have become overly critical a little, i can see why..your spending $60.00 on a game, it's a good thing most game have Demo's these Day's.:D,for me i just play the game's to try them out and see if i had fun playing them. Gameplay, graphic's,storyline are all a big bonus if I HAD FUN PLAYING THE GAME. which is what should matter the most Did you have fun playing the game.

which is what's it's all about.

i guess that's because i grew up in the 70's my first computer was a atari 800XL i had a blast with that machine. it had a uber, powerful machine check out these spec's.

"The politically incorrect answer is that the PS3 is a huge pain in the ass. Anyone making a game, if you're going to make it for both [360 and PS3], just lead on the PS3 because if it works on the PS3 it'll work on 360."

This is a good point.  It's also worth mentioning that the Xbox 360 has more general purpose CPU time and much more fill rate than the PS3, allowing you to do extra lighting passes or better filtering compared to the PS3 version.

This old chestnut again!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

that's not 100% completely true.

if you are going by just PPE's yes the xbox360 has more general purpose CPU time , by if you were just useing the PPE's of both machine's, but as you may not know the Cell CPU has SPE's which are also general purpose core's in of them selves. that can also be used. but that it's also going to be thing's those 3 cores do in general purpose application's that are better suited in some thing's but other's the SPE's would be worse in but better at than the 3 Core's in the xbox360.

AND FOR Fill rate once again it's still depend's on what you are trying to do. if say you only need 8 character's on screen at one time your fill rate will be faster with a larger ammount of ram in a pool. but slower with a lower ammount of pool. the 512 MB of shared pool compared to the ps3's 256 that the Main GPU has. but if you take into consideration if you are trying to do more thing's on screen at once, but with a secondary GPU that can remove the compute function's light lighting, particle effect's and physic's on the other GPU ie: the Cell processor in the PS3 as an example, that mean's the Main GPU is less taxed. so it can do what it does best and that is DRAW

this of course along with experience, and time go to give the developer result's for their effort's.

the hardware can help or hinder in some cases, and cause some hair pulling.... but's it's problem's all developer's face.

Multi-core programming is hard, and it's really in its infancy at this point...so I certianly believe the ebst is yet to come from these two consoles. Personally for me...I look at a game like Gears of War 2, and say to myself...If GearsOW3 looks like this...that's A-OK with me! I'm look for more IMMERSION in gameplay, not necesarily just better graphics. A better looking game can help with immersion, but it is not the answer and look at a game like Oblivion...That level of Immersion is awesome...gimme more of that, and I'll be happy.

it's as much as being" hard" as much as "experience" with working from a multi-core design for your software from the ground up. single core is still the main development enviroment outside of (Console's) but that is also going to Change. because more and more of the network distributed "grid" computeing, cluster and cloud computeing enviroment's are where everything is headed currently.

like for Me i like Gear's also because of it's style of small squad tactic's..or lack there of if you like to chain saw thing's, hey i like "chain sword's" just as much as the next player..I love Warhammer 40k. if you also like it, Inquisitor is a great wargame/rpg Pen &paper miniture game and the rule's are free....the mini['s are not]..:(. good to rep. gear's of war on the tabletop) or any game like Killzone 2,metal gear solid 4..etc.

feel free to enjoy the free game. any Question's about the game PM me thank's

Isn't Midway bankrupt?

Lol at him calling the 360 a "dumb PC" though

My job is hard to. Do you think ThisXboxLife.com will write an article about it?

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

The only people who have claimed difficulties with programming the PS3 are either crappy programmers, like the guys doing Wheelman, or PC guys like Gabe Newell. Anyone used to programing for consoles and capable of putting up high quality products is sitting back casually and not feeling the pinch at all.

You do not have the right to never be offended.
