Forums - Website Topics - Should Brett Charge A One Time $5 Fee To Post In Forums??

Notes
- This fee would be for posting in forums and having access to the more detailed weekly data
- Non members can read forums and front page data
- One time only when creating an account

Here are the reasons why I think Brett should

- Less trolling due to fear of perma ban and having to pay $5 for new account
- More people in the forums talking about SALES
- Less alt accounts & spammers
- Eliminates most of the under 18 crowd

Please add any reasons why you think Vgchartz should have a one time fee or if it shouldn't!

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Then what does that do to all current members?

We would now need to pay to continue posting?

By reading your post though it sounds more like new members after a specific date (Most likely when 2.0 goes live). Hopefully this is what you meant.

I think it is a reasonable idea for new accounts.

I would not even mind doing it personally if it was applied to existing accounts -- but I am not sure whether or not that would be a wise thing to do.

Of course, if people pay, even a small one-time fee, they are going to expect service. 8*>

Finally, I would think some sort of payment acceptance account (i.e., Paypal) would have to be set-up to do this.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

If it was decided that ALL members would have to pay then I think it would help clean out the trash. I think the forums would be a lot more civilized and the quality of posts would greatly increase!

1) This is not SA forums.
2) Our community would shrink to next to nothing
3) Most people don't want to pay to post, and it would just make the admins look incredibly greedy

I would pay $5 for the right to wield a banhammer.

True, but that would be incredibly unfair to all those who helped VGChartz rise to the level of popularity it has. To those who have been here for years.

In my opinion the smartest thing I could think of is having some kind of tri-monthly fee to have all ads removed from the site when you are logged in under your account.

I can see that going much further. Plus those "premium" members could also get a cool colored username or something. Maybe a green username.
