Forums - Sony - Killzone 2 framerate can drop as low as 20fps

Judging by the video, it seems that the Framerate drops to just bellow 20fps after the load and then goes back up. I didn't notice anything that got in my way during the demo, I hope the whole game is consistent. Like Twestern said, consistency in the frame rate is much more important than trying to push it up to 60.

I canceled my preorder. This was not the perfected war I was promised.

Why do people try to always compare a PC Game like Crysis to a console game like Killzone 2?

Im frankly tired of it...obviously if you have a Super hooked up computer sporting all the new technologies...from Ram...to a graphics card etc...god knows all the stuff you need to play computer games at the highest graphical level!

Of course computer games will ALWAYS look better than console games but um...us console owners dont have to keep upgrading our systems with ram and $400 dollar graphic cards....which to me is a waste of money for every game that is released on the PC...pushing the limits...you'll have to go out and purchase these expensive parts to play that game...stupid in my opinion...

Now this Framerat issue with Killzone 2 might hamper things for a couple of seconds but it's not a big deal....why dont we all just wait to play the game and judge that for ourselves?

And why out of all reviews I read no one mention this? it's either bulls*ht or not that noticeable to complain about

Another thing why in these videos they show... the person playing always makes the game look dull and boring? or is it just me that notices this? this happens to every FPS video I see

I Cannot believe some people complaining about such a rare minor issue such as this means KZ2 = Not technically good. >_>

Nothing about that article is hating. It just saying the game doesn't run at a perfect framerate all the time.

So not only is it not 60 fps, but it's not even a stable 30 fps? If this is what passes for a technically good game these days, fine...

It's quite annoying that most of the 360 games I played have noticeable framerate dips whereas the Wii is much better in this regard.

maybe not Wiisports. but have you tried "Deadly Creature"?

lol, because Wii Sports is the only Wii game, right?

Have you tried Deadly Creatures?

SMG is like the best looking game on the Wii and it runs on smooth 60 FPS at 480p with no framerate drops ever.

Deadly Creatures doesn't have framerate drops (at least none I noticed)

What it does have is 1 or 2 specific points in the game for loading, which as far as I can tell is just for loading the next area because it mainly happens in the tighter, none cluttered tunnels.

It's basically as if you play GTA3, and there is a 3 second loading screen as you cross the bridge to the next island. (which in my PC version there is) The only difference is Deadly Creatures keeps the in-game screen, while other games bring up specific loading screens.

Im not taking about the article . What game does? Will this detract from the experience to the extent that it is game breaking? Nothing is perfect, Its impossible to make it so, The funny thing is , It's these imperfections that make us who we are. P.S . This isn't directed to you Pbroy, just thinking out loud

That wasn't directed towards you either, it was in general.. haha..

It's more directed towards the people who are getting upset about an article sayina a game can drop in framerate at times

This just is more reason that the argument "You can't compare two system's performance using screenshots" is 100% correct ...

So I want to get something straight? This framerate measurement was taken from the demo? or a copy of the actual game (presumedly pre-release)?
