Slightly off-topic:

I think it's crazy that people are saying that the frame rate drops aren't noticeable, because clearly there were noticeable or else you wouldn't have noticed them.

Anyway, slightly disappointed by this, but hopefully it's only for the really intense moments (because most of the game is intense from what I've seen).

What? Outside of the obvious loads (the one second or two pauses) I didn't notice a drop.

Squilliam has a valid point. If CoD didn't have split-screen, ran at a similar FPS, and was designed and optimized for a single platform, how good would it look? Perhaps GG will add split-screen in the future but by the look of those frame rates, it is highly unlikely the PS3 can handle it.

Well, I'd love a sony Bravia that does 200Hrz running a game at 200fps, but gaming perfection hasn't yet arrived. But atleast the tv's have : D

I don't think your eyes could see that?

I notice alot of difference between 60fps and 100fps. I have yet to get a good look at 200fps footage, I've only seen those tv's running normal stuff so far. And in America the Hrz standards are higher. EU get 100Hrz tv's and US gets 120Hrz. And the sony bravia 200Hrz is 240Hrz in the US. Bah!

If you were looking at TV shaped like a window with ultra high definition, it would have to display 500FPS in order for you to think it were real. Anything less and it won't look the same. Close, but not the same. A face could flash for 1/500th of a second and you will still be able to recognize it.

One of the reasons why COD IV sells so well could be that its running at 60FPS with excellent visuals.

Cod4 drops way below 20FPS of you know where to go and what to do. And its visuals are far from excellent.

Seriously, Squilliam, you have no idea what you are talking about. The beta supposedly had framerate issues but it never effected my gameplay at all.

As for "during loads." The game only loads during non-fight segments. If you play the demo, you'll notice that when you go up the elevator to get inside the warehouse that the game stutters in the load. You know what's awesome? Not seeing a load screen!

This entire thread is a non-issue except for people to bash the game. And for the guy who said he canceled his preorder because of this story: yeah right, I believe that 100%.

@Quote level 1: So, COD IV drops below 20FPS from 60, I would love for you to prove that one!

@Quote level 2: Errrr ok, how have I bashed the game? I haven't exactly canceled my pre-order for the LTD edition now have I?

Tease.

The Bravia only turns the back light on/off 200 times per second. This is done to reduce smearing during fast motion. That doesn't mean the LCD panel can correctly display 200fps. As far as I know the fastest LCD panels can only display something like 70-80 frames per second (true 2ms displays). LCD is by far the slowest of all screen technologies.

That depends on the person, remember, not every human has the same eye-brain configuration, the tiniest change in our genetic code can change our whole view on the world, same with the other senses, why a person listens to a song in a vinyl LP, then a CD, then a MP3, then a 5.1 AAC audio, then a FLAC, and says "they all sound the same", but another person listens to the same song, one in MP3-256kb, and the other one in MP3-320kb (without knowing this) and he says "i prefer the 2nd one, has more sound quality"?

Right here there are people that you put that HDTV in window shape, put a 250 FPS video simulating the sky, and they buy it, and there's other people that you put the same video in 450 FPS and they say "that's a phreaking TV, where's my window??"

One day i hooked up my DVD player to my HDTV in 2 ways, composite and HDMI, i was with 3 friends and i put a movie first in the HDMI mode, then when i had the chance, i switched it to composite, they came back, and 2 noticed inmediatly that something was wrong while the other one just said "what?"...
