Forums - Sony Discussion - Rumor: PSM Editor in Chief being Canned (

The current editor reviewed both games from what I understand.

I've corrected this in every thread and yet no one listens. He did not review EITHER game. Some intern reviewed Warhawk and another reviewer did Lair.

An intern reviewed one of the biggest PS3 games of the year?!!!  That alone is reason enough to fire that guy.

After the controversy of the recent PSM reviews of Warhawk and Heavenly Sword comes this:

http://www.psmonline.com/2007/08/24/exclusive-news/

Former Editor-in-Chief, Chris Slate, was spotted today in the PSM offices, sparking rumors of an imminent return to right the listing ship. “I have no comment,” said Slate of the rumor mill, “other than to declare my undying fandom of Sony and all things PlayStation… unlike some other editors I could mention.” Slate’s views on Warhawk and Lair are unknown at this time. Slate was then seen heading to the offices of the PSM bosses for what we believe to be showdown meetings. We will update you on this breaking story as we get more news.

LOL.

We don't like unbiased reviews, will replace reviewer with a fanboy instead.

Nice ;)

(no doubt Sony wasn't very impressed by impartial reviews on some of its biggest titles...)

Well there is a reason this magazine beat Sony's version of Nintendo Power into the ground to where they had to give it up.

Every console needs a few bias magazines that talk up nearly everything about every game for fanboys.  There's a market for it, and it should be met.  This magazine is basically supposed to tow the sony company line(despite no being owned by them) as does their sister magazine "Official Playstation Magazine."

If it doesn't the editor should be fired.  Statistics well bear out whether rationale people can take a reveiw at face value or not, so having a few bias magazines out there for people who want to believe their individual console does no wrong (like say... nintendo power) is a good thing.

Rumor: Editor from Nintendo Power to Replacer current PSM Editor

Well ,lately it has suprised me how in some Sony-related mags and webpages the writers and editors are quite eager to spread bad news and rumours .

Theres a risk of replacing an impartial reviewer with a fanboy ,but theres also a risk on having someone biased against or with his own agenda as editor on board .

They getting rid of a dumb bias Xbot that cant do his job, makes sense.

His bs is hurting the mag, you fire those types.

Oh my god don't start always rumors like these X_X.

You had me last time but not this time X_X.

PSM officially renamed SDF.
Write a negative review of an important PS3 game, lose your job.

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick

This is pretty pathetic.

They fire him because of people like you.  They keep you guys reading PSM...whether or not he's an "Xbot" doesn't matter...if you or other PS3 fans think he's an xbot, that's bad for Sony, so he gets canned.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
