No wonder it's coming out so quickly.
I guess it's "yeahhh" for On-Rails fans and "muahhh" for F/TPS.
Well I must admit it does look really nice and probably suits the Wii better this way. Looking forward to it! Wii has been seeing a lot of on rails shooters so perhaps it'll begin to become a mainstream genre? I can see that happening..
Uh.. cool, I guess.. that would be my 3rd on rail shooter now..
I've got a feeling that I'm not as happy as I'm supposed to be about this news.
Can someone explain to me why they would like a FPS but not an on-rail shooter?!?
The only difference is the ability to walk (yes, that's a big difference), but you'll get much a more scripted (aka movielike) experience in return. That's not too bad for a horrorgame, is it?!?
If this game is a prequel to the first game.. shouldn't there be a game about the events of the first game coming to Wii at some point?
Pixel Art can be fun.

I want the freedom and exploration, not just being guided along pointing at stuff and clicking. I dunno, after HOTD:OK it just seems annoying to have another on-rails, it's been done.
People probably wouldn't be disappointed if it wasn't a Dead Space game, the original was so great because of the level design and the way exploring the ship gave you this feeling of isolation. It seems to be losing alot of what made Dead Space great :/.

Cause I'm a chicken... standing still at first.. look around.. them move 2 inches.. then look around.. then move 2 inches again.. then see the enemy.. run back scared like hell... turn around.. and then shoot... :)

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
This is only bad for the people who aren't looking forward to the horror aspects of the game. After reading that interview it seems that the script will be written for some really shocking, chilling moments which a lot of horror games are missing..
As long as they script it well and they do innovate, not just follow the standard light gun formula, they could make quite a highly regarded Wii game that shows third parties how to play to the Wii's strengths.

uhm, unlike FPS and TPS you mean?!? They've been done much more often than Arcade shooters. And calling them pointing and clicking makes me show you this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YePLMI9pu4
Lightgun games are definitely skill based.
And since the original didn't exactly meet EA's demands it's quite logical that they try something different. Good games are good games, no matter the genre and from the trailer and the fact EA Redwood is making it I'm expecting a very good game.
This
EDIT:
It is an on rails shooter, there will be no horror.
