Forums - Sales - Predict lifetime sales for Forza 3 and GT5

GT5:

USA: 3.5 millions

EU/PAL: 2.5 millions

Japan: 1 millions

Total: 7 millions

Forza Motorsport 3:

USA: 2 millions

EU/PAL: 2 millions

Total: 4 millions

You think that GT5 will sell more in the US than in EU.... given that nearly every PS3 games sells better in EU (particularly racers) and the GT series is particularly big in Europe

So um, if the PS3 isn't likely to achieve 50% of the LTD sales of the PS2 and yet people think that GT5 is just going to merily follow the same sales patern as the previous games as if the console sales were still there?

Bah, Im going to predict 5M GT5 and 3.5M Forza 3 sales.

Well the GT fanbase is quite keen and therefore most likely comprised of people from the first 50% of PS2 LTD sales, so that changes nothing.

lol and you base that one what?

Anyway

GT 6.5M

Forza 5M

Only 1.5 million difference between the two? People either seriously underestimating the GT franchise or have no clue about market saturation.

Also why again is Forza 3 a PAL system seller, if one looks at Forza 2 sales it looks to be more of a NA system seller. GT is a system seller in EU, no idea why people are puttinf Forza 3 up there when many of those EU sales were pack ins.

RPG, forza sales will suprise you...

eliasg, just because you say so does not make it so......

At least give a prediction eliasg.

people are putting forza really low, its true forza was bundled like hell, but every game company has a right to bundle games to make for a more attractive console purchase.

i would give forza 3 lifetime of 3-4 million 4.5million if bundled could go near 5 million.

i would give gran turismo 8 million upto 10 million if bundled.

gt5 may sell a way lot more imo, if a fall price cut combined with gt5 launch it could hit the gas.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

This generation the industry has grown, people are buying more and more games. A flagship GT game has not yet released this generation so huge sales are written all over it. At the very worst I expect 8 million but the game is a system seller so with bundles my guess is at least 10 million.

People would buy a PS3 for GT5, cannot say the same for Forza 3.

I would say about 6.5 to 7 million for GT5 based on the lower userbase.
With the growing Userbase in Europe and the US, I would predict about 5 million for Forza 3.

Money spent on gaming in 2009: €130,00

Gran Turismo 5: 9.5 million

Forza 3: 4.5 million

Anybody predicting less than 7 million for GT5...lol.

Never said it was a PAL seller, and being a pack in game is exactly why I think Forza 3 will reach 5 million.

Also I think its fair to say a lot of former PS2 owners have gone Wii/360. they're not suddenly going to jump ship and buy a PS3 because GT releases, GT isn't the clearcut winner of Racing sims anymore, the very fact that its debateable means people will just buy Forza 3 for their 360.

I retract my earlier prediction. I forgot just how huge GT was for a minute. I didn't know the userbase on PS2 was that small when GT3 was released.

My new prediction is 12 million, just under half of the userbase will own GT5 when its out. Its massive in PAL and Japan, and big in America.
