Put yourself in is position. I mean... it's his name that is at stake (and for Japanese, that means twice as for us). I'm sure he did all that he could... and I'm almost sure the final decision wasn't his, as I'm almost sure I didn't mind that much.  I read several interviews since then... and not being explicit, everything makes sense. He is a creative... what is he worth if he can not apply what he's been hired for?

Well... this is offtopic... but it was just to clarify (or point my view about it... none of these are facts).

Ontopic... I was realy realy surprised when I read this article this morning. Quite happy and, at the same time... I hope he's working with Monolith as well. I really do...

He has worked on XII enough, and then Hiroyuki Ito, the director of FFVI and IX, has done a great job finishing the game.

   I am not going to start yet another "FFXII - yay or nay?!" discussion here though, it has been done to death already. For me it's an absolutely amazing game and the best game in the series. That's why even though I dont own the Wii I am kind of interested to see what Matsuno does next.

Well I do love IX more than any other FF. I liked XII more than IV and VI, but I'm sure I in the minority at this website.

I think VIII and XII are the best, and VI but nobody cares about that.

Across the board the debate is always about VI or VII as the masterpieces of the series. I tend to agree with that as well.

VI is the best, but XII is second in my opinion. I think the story is fine. People have just gotten used to over the top stories that ff have spouted out since ffvii.

VI was pretty simple. Empire was bad, Returners good, Kefka betrayed empire. Kefka destroys world and you stop him. There are no crazy ass explinations to make it all fit together. I think these types of stores are best.
