Kill Zone 2 launch  could push PS3 to 300 000  in weekly console sales. Then PS3 will drop back to selling 150k to 160k per week within a couple of weeks.

Just imagine if Kill Zone 2 pushes PS3 hardware just like MGS 4 helped sell 300 000 PS3s in worldwide console sales around 8 months ago.

PS3 sales have dropped down since Xmas 2008 sales period. January 2009 has been a decrease on YoY of PS3 same month sales of January 2008.

Could there be a lot of Kill Zone 2 bundles waiting to be sold when the game launches end of February? Stock piling of PS3 consoles by retailers? PS3 could bounce back for a week with the launch of Kill Zone 2 but drop sharply to be marginally higher (10k to 20k) than previous PS3 sales weeks.

I believe a long over due PS3 console price cut could be needed to maintain continuous sales momentum of PS3 consoles.

So what are your views on Kill Zone 2s impact upon PS3 hardware sales?

if u check my pricing history thread there are plans for a eu bundle i think thats about it no na bundle i don't think it well make the ps3 go to 300k more like 200-250k ww then go back down quickly

i also think there will be no price cut till at least july it would be nice if sony does the things u've mentioned but i doubt it

I think there will barely be an increase, and that Killzone is 1 word

I've got low expectations. 200k would be already good.

As good as Killzone 2 is, and as much as it's a must have for any PS3 owner, I've yet to see people telling they'll buy a PS3 for it.

I do not see it selling systems but rather selling to the current userbase, 1 million first month and 4 millioon lifetime. This is not an established franchise and I stand by what I said which is that the only system sellers the PS3 has are FFXIII in Japan and GT5 WW.

I'm guessing it'll equal 360 in sales WW for 1 week. Maybe a little more.

In single word: minimal

I'm in the "it will sell a lot to those who already own PS3, but is unlikely to cause a massive stir in hardware sales" camp.

I think we could just wait a couple of week and see.

I think it has the Potential for a sizeable increase.

but only time will tell.
