Never saw degradation, but 2 and 4 are my favorites in the series, and I have too many nostalgiac memories of that green/tan block that was "Chris Redfield" for me to ever hate him.

Agreed.

I don't really give two damns about the story, since it is easily the worst thing about the series.

I'd rather it be an original Resident Evil game, and I'd rather it be built for maximum enjoyment given the way the Wii works, as RE4 was for the Gamecube.

Don't care about anything else.

Being a RE nut, kind of, I know craploads of details not seen in trailers or press statements/interviews.

The RE5 demo had its database pulled apart with complete character lists, Jill is in the game, and a playable mercenaries side game character also.  I personally think that the girl in the cloak is a clone and the real Jill is the girl int he tube.

All right, I hadn't seen the trailer before, and I didn't read your spoiler, but I think I get what's going on now.  And it intrigues the hell out me!  I want this damn game right now!
