this site is getting ridiculous on the bans. Tacoboy said nothing wrong here. He is right in everything this post says in my opinion. it's not like he said ps3 and gow suck, buy a wii/360. ssj12's post are trolling more than this but he is a mod or something like that so he gets a pass.

Because some (Me) bought the console for this game and anything else is just extra.Another example is my 2nd PS2 broke before GOW 2 came out so i went and bought another one just for that game.

And it's not like this was his first ban.  He was warned TWICE for similar comments, then banned for three days, then banned for five days, then banned for seven days, then banned for 14.

I was only responsible for two of those, fyi.

It like arresting a person for littering when there is a murder going on beside him.

Do you report these posts? Because there's a good chance that we may never see them otherwise.

Also, do they take place in the 360 forum?  It seems reasonable that ps3 fanboys probably troll there (just like the reverse happens here), and given how rarely I enter the 360 forum, I'll never see such posts unless they are reported.

when deciding which next gen system to get i knew i REALLY wanted SSBB and GTA IV. thus i have a ps3 and wii. however, the one game i knew that was a 100 % must buy was GOW 3. i bought my ps3 around when GTA game out, but the main reason was to play the eventual GOW 3. GOW 2 was probably my favorite ps2 game and i cant wait to see where the story goes in the third. so for me, GOW 3 by name alone was my system seller.

MGS4 was a system seller. God of War isn't as powerful a series, but it has quite a fanbase. It'll sell a few systems, but not like Halo, GT or FF in Japan.

LBP has nothing to do with this discussion. He was trolling, it has nothing to do with this thread, he gets banned. Nobody ever said LBP would be the second coming of Christ, hardly anybody said it was going to be a system seller, being "delusional" is not part of hype, and hell, nobody is saying God of War will be a system seller in any big way. 360 fanboys just make this up, like how every PS3 fan apparently says that Killzone 2 will save the PS3.

I agree, though, a lot of people get away with far worse than that without being banned. To be honest, I think Tacoboy's been allowed to slide enough.

If hype annoys you, don't post in the Sony forums. Simple as that.

I got a ban from him for making a comment in the same direction, you know the vicious overhype cycle some people experience over and over (notice there are no brands or franchises in this line, so it could potentially apply to anyone and everyone, I'm not implicitly nor explicitly mentioning any collective nor any game IP).

If he doesn't like that kind of comments, well he's a mod so he has the right to strike the banhammer. But at least he could put up a sticky warning about it. You know, "Things I consider trolling" something along these lines.

Personally, I think it is (and in Tacoboy's case, was) trolling to perpetually construct a straw man by dishonestly ascribing a hyperbolic viewpoint to a set of posters, i.e. claiming that lots of PS3 fanboys thought that LBP would sell 6 million copies in its first month.

But in truth I think the whole discussion should be dropped. A mod made a decision. If it's the wrong one, then a senior will pull him up on it. Otherwise, let's revert to GOW3 system selling discussion.
