Forums - Nintendo - Rumour: Bioshock Coming to Wii? (3rd Party Floodgates Opening?)

--OkeyDokey-- said:

Bioshock's graphics and atmosphere were the only good things about it. This game would suck even more on Wii.

Wii can handle good graphics, I've seen worse on 360 than The Conduit.

If tey nail wii horsepower and motion plus the game should be good...

While I wouldn't be shocked to see it happen, asking for experience on current generation hardware isn't that uncommon in development positions in the gaming industry regardless of whether you will be working on the platforms they list ...

If so, then congrats Wii owners!

i think it will happen and might be shown off at gdc in march. i think if 2k games/take two, truly use what hardware the wii has , it can produce graphics like nintendo shown in super mario galaxy. if they can produce graphics like that for bioshock, then the wii's version wouldnt be as much of a dumbdown version, that some ppl have said.

It could happen. You'd lose some graphics, but Bioshock just doesn't do anything all that technically demanding other than that. It'd come across pretty much the same.

But will it? I have my doubts. While Take-Two's distance from Rockstar allows it a bit more freedom in doing anything with Ye Big Family-Friendly Console without damaging Rockstar's edgy and rebellious image (their main draw), they still have to be careful about it.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Might be an original fps for Wii. Might be a brand new genre too. Or it might be politeness, next gen systems do include the wii.

Straws clutching

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Stupid idea. First devs just crap out shovelware for a quick buck. Now they port good games on the HD consoles and cripple them in the process. They need to make qaulity game for the Wii from the ground up and stop taking short cuts, to cash in.

That seems like a waaay out there rumor.

You know what i'd like... a 3rd person action "Freedom Force" game where you play your own create a character.

I'm so happy! Now one of my favorite game this generation is on all consoles!
