richard - you missed the point. blazing knows its multi.
seece - reviews halo3 is only 7 points ahead of R2 not as big as you make it seem. and im sure the ad budget had something to do with that

360 also has a higher attach rate than PS3.
Not just you but other PS3 fanboys, they put down the game cause the 360 version gets exclusive DLC therefore they make the game seem like Shit,so that way 360 wont have anything over PS3,aww.

Let's try this one more time. The op mentioned GTA4 as a game that "Sony Fanboys" love to hate. The 360 has 28.23 million consoles and the PS3 has 20.23 million consoles. GTA sold 6.82 million units on the 360 and 5.4 million units on the PS3. If you divide the number of units by the number of consoles you derive the games attach rate by platform. 24% of 360 users bought GTA and 27% of the PS3 users bought the game. The PS3 version sold at a higher percentage. That was my point about attach rates.
Both you and the original poster seem to overlook the fact that multiplatform games do not get any hype from fanboys in general. There really weren't that many threads about COD5, which was the sequel to the best FPS this generation, but you can always find a thread about Alan Wake, The Conduit, Halo Wars, Ninja Balde, Velvet Assasin, GTA DLC, etc. Pretty much any game that is exclusive to a platform gets its fair time aboard the hype train.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Same with Sony fans for KZ2, inFAMOUS, HEAVY RAIN, God of War III, Uncharted 2 etc and Wii fans about Madworld, The Conduit, Dragon Quest X etc... IMO, being more excited about console exclusives than multiplats is healthy for ANY console, not just the PS3. Multiplats don't test a specific systems specs, and why should ANY gamer favor that? |
First of all, the X360 fans are more realistic about exclusives - they are games just like multiplatforms, but there simply is a lot more MP games released than exslusives, thus likely more games to be excited about.
SC Convition
Alan Wake
Halo ODST
SO4
Halo Wars
RE5
FInal Fantasy 13
CoD5 MW
Dragon Age Origins
Bioshock 2
Prototype
Mafia 2
Wolfenstein
Final Fantasy 13
Rage
Ded Risin 2
Starcraft 2 (on PC but everyone's machine can run this game)
Beyond Good n Evil 2
Second, there hardly ain't any "specific systems specs" to be tested (and if there is, shouldnt they have beem tested by now? KZ2 godly animations, MGS4 using 50GB of disc space etc) - the X360 and PS3 are equally powerful. Arguments about the Cell being a difference maker is just fanboyism.

LOL personal opinion and all that but in terms or scores, quality and reviews no R2 doesn't stack up to Halo. ... actually its an insult to say it comes close to Halo ..... |
You are being entirely hypocritcal with your post. You criticize him for stating his personal opinion as fact and then you do the same.
Not everyone like Halo. I kinda hate it.

He did bring evidence, 'scores, quality and reviews'. So hes obviously not just stating an opinion as fact.
Theres another factor as well: Sales.
People accuse Halo of being the same 3* over, but then again people have had 3 chances to decide they hate the game and yet the sales just keep increasing from iteration to iteration. RFOM has had two chances and it looks like it will follow the reverse and have lower sales for the 2nd than the original.
Quality series increase their sales or at least maintain them, examples are games like GT, MGS, Halo, Mario... So can RFOM 2 be considered comparable? No.
Tease.

If that's true then why has Metal Gear decreased in sales every iterartion despite recieving those highly coveted scores.
Tbh i dont get it but all the games that looks OMFG I MUST OWN EM is exclusives, well most of em..
I think that has to do with the internet building up hypes especially for exclusives ON PS3 lol. ( Great job keep it up IE!)
Then it also might be that most ppl that own a PS3 are those that couldnt get enough of games like GoW, GT etc and are peeing in their pants looking forward to these games (Like me)
Then its my personal view is that most multiplat games ive bought doesnt last more then 0.5 month... ofc CoD 4 lasted like 4-5 but i mean most of them. Although games as MGS4 ive been playing it.. ALOT, LBP ALOT, GT5.. online with the pedals and all ALOT XD, Uncharted just once but it was amazing... ;'), MotorStorm.. Alot, Haze EVEN THAT took me around 3 months to complete mainly because i played it with my friend that visits like 1 time each week and we ended up playing Mgs4 and LBP most of the time XD.
Thats my personal experience i got fallout 3 on PC it was fun but after i blew up megaton and went with my father out of vaulve 112 it just got really extremly boring, Then theres alot of games like these but then theres also ones that hold ofc.. But i feel like exclusives give a longer replay value although i dont think thats because theyre exclusives i just think the GAMES that PS3 atm is getting are those that are.. well meh KZ2 for instance its online will atleast be like CoD4.. Ive played 80 hours of MGO atm and won MGS4 like 14 times(addicted)
Ok so nvm i just shared my thoughts XD

Metal Gear Solid 1-2 = ~ same sales.
Metal Gear Solid 3-4 = ~ same sales.
They lost some fanbase with number 2 but they have maintained it since then and sales have always been high.
Tease.
