SONY FTW!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Reading the whole article, one point is missing and one is not discussed in the thread.

Missing -- no info. on market share. Growth is good. But is it at the expensive of (or how much is at the expensive of) DVD.

Not mentioned -- Dec. 2008 survey in US showing that only 1/5 of consumers intended to buy a BR-DVD and only 1/7 intended on replacing their DVD units with BR-DVD.

News good. But how good is unclear.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Good, on track to becoming a real factor on the markt within 2-3 years, it seems.
Lol@ Skeeuk; they'll come, and they'll stand in the comdedy section!
Those movies are hilarious (perhaps unintentionally, but still hilarious).

Shouldn't this be in Off-Topics since it's not about gaming?

Anyway, DVD is still king.  Bluray is still the upstart prince trying to assassinate him.  VHS is busily living in a van down by the river.

LOL I loved that metaphor!

The next Prince of Persia's plot should be similar to what you described. xD

BD has moved from the videophile tech geek group to the next market segment. Data is showing that as well as anecdotal evidence from many people.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
