Wha..? Multi-player, multiple players, ie. > 1. I think you're stretching the meaning to fit your own hopes.

If anything, our only hope is in the fact that there's actually plenty of time for this to change, maybe they'll pull the resources in just like they did for online!

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

@Demotruk: As I said I never saw anyone calling coop multiplayer.

But I'm not thinking coop will happen anyway, as I recall it they had denied it long ago. It's nothing to do with my hopes, just putting the question out there.

The Conduit's sales probably will be cut in half because of the decision to get rid of the splitscreen. That's really sad.

I mean.. "What if a person doesn't have a Wii connected to the internet?" The game clearly wouldn't be worth $50.

I agree. I think they're totally underestimating the viral effect of local multiplayer. I think it's the secret to the success of many of the Wii titles that sold better than expected: Mario Kart: Wii, House of the Dead 2&3, Game Party, Carnival Games, and of course the Wii itself!

Edit: In fact, I just looked at the million seller list for Wii. A great majority of the games on it have local multiplayer.

By them removing the lan feature there goes the chance of the conduit breaking into gaming joints that do tourney fps like quake 3, halo 3, etc...



I know what you mean regin2005.

No splitscreen can will limit this games sales potential. But all games have flaws or things that can be improved.

Half-Life didn't have any multiplayer and it's still one of the top selling FPS ever. Would it kick a** if it did have multiplayer? You betcha. But not having it just means that it better have other qualities that are highly valued and where no better alternatives are available. It does great realistic graphics and fully customisable controls.



Half-Life was on the PC though, and at a time when even less of us had internet connections that made online multi-player worthwhile (it's still a minority today, but it's not such a small minority).

It sucks but the fact that I can hook four consoles up to my wireless network basically means I can still run LAN parties at my house.

I was hoping for co-op story mode, but I guess this game will just have to do. Hopefully, the sequel will do us much better. Right now, I feel like this game is a half-step forward.
