Forums - Sales - __will KZ2 sales potential affected by no party sysem and controls ? __

^I don't think it's realism at all. Lag isn't a good thing, it's just not something I notice unless it's really bad.

Really, that's all it is. Whining about 5 frames of lag. It's sad.

Have you played the demo? Is it horrendously unplayable? No, it's up there with the best controlling console FPS games ever.

Actually, "nothing" would be 0 frames of lag.

" If you can't survive 0.167 seconds without pressing the trigger."

Did you watch the video, read the comment, or use your common sense at all? I am not even sure what you are referring to. The fact is that you push the trigger button, and five frames later the screen indicates it has received your command. That is way too long. How is that realistic, anyways? Have you ever fired a gun? Is there a .167 second delay in reality?

I know you wish people would stop whining. I wish people would stop blindly defending a game that has noticeable lag and claim that lagged aiming = realism. Halo 3, Resistance 2, the Call of Duty games, and even games like Half-life 2 and Crysis manage to have widely differing experiences and still have fun, crisp aiming and firing of weapons. Why mess with a winning mechanic that is fundamentally essential, that is, the screen does what I tell it to do when I tell it to do it.

WOW. Just wow. 5 frames  is way too long? You act like it's game breaking or something. You do notice how the guy in the video couldn't even notice the lag until he slowed down the video frame by frame.

Who is the one overblowing things now? It's not that serious, and if it is, it will get fixed.

Also, for the record. I just booted up the demo to check it for myself once again. I couldn't even think "1" in my head before the gun responded. It happened what seemed to be instantly. I guess 5 frames really isn't anything like I suspected. In additon, I tried flicking my stick like was in the video and it responded each time. I don't see what the problem is with that. Either way, I find it funny how in depth people will go to belittle this game. It's quite sad.

ugh.. quit damning the game until you play it...

you don't even know how the invites/clan system is going to work and yet your still saying it doesn't matter because you want a party system...

Maybe you'll like it..

but in the mean time quit flippin crying because this game isn't 100% like CoD..

Somebody's upset....  Damage control?

Seriously though, inviting your friends to the game is not the same as a party system.  If you invite them, they can end up on the opposite team, or the server could get full, and if the teams are randomized each round as someone suggested, that would be even more awful and annoying.  I don't know about you guys, but when I game online, I prefer to do it with teammates I know and trust.  Not having a party system is a slight letdown considering even Resistance 2 had one.

It won't kill sales, though.

Also, CoD is not the only game to use the party system, so stop flippin crying because that is the only game you know of and think everyone is comparing it to.

May I just point out that a shooting action may be happening before it's being rendered? A raycast (to work out where the bullet would end up) is a relatively simple equation, and so everything could be calculated before the gpu puts the image to the screen.

That could be game breaking, moreso, as people wouldn't be able to tell exactly when they're shooting, but no human thinks and responds in 0.167 seconds, and it would take much longer, in most cases, for the player to even recognise another enemy on the screen.

Anyone notice that as Killzone 2 gets nitpicked apart it is usually followed with a
"but this game did this", "but that game does that" and "why can't Killzone 2 do it too"?

First people bitched about how Killzone 2 was going to be too much like other shooters.

Now people bitch about how Killzone 2 isn't enough like other shooters.

I swear you never win.

This game isn't COD4, this game isn't Halo 3. Learn to accept that and move on.

If people got their way and Killzone 2 was just like Halo 3 or COD4 instead we would have "Told you Killzone 2 would be generic and just like every other FPS". This is my opinion anyways.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

KZ2 doesn't have a party system therefore it will flop with less than 10K sold WW first year..

I thought I closed this... don't people pay attention..

for a PC gamer 5 frame delay is death... it means that if you pull the trigger on your gun and the same time as a guy with less delay you are the one who is dead... if the game is build around this delay though I don't really see the problem. To be fair 5 frames a second is 1/6 of the frames in a 30fps game... it looks uglier when you say it like that.

The controls -will- affect sales, this isn't a few people complaining, for every person on the KZ forums defending the controls there is one saying they are terrible.

There are I think 6 different configurations for the controls on the demo, including one that is pretty much identicle to CoD.  Anyone who says that the controls will affect the sales of this game have either never played it or are a Sony hater.  If you can't find a configuration you like, there will be NO FPS that will satisfy you.

There is actually not one good arguement in this whole thread and the controls.

I guess you people will make up any excuse to hate a Sony product, no matter how good it is.
