Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Call of Duty MW2 not coming to Wii

Sounds pretty odd to me, unless the levels (and they propably are) taking the whole RAM on Wii, which exceeds the propable allowed filesize.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Yeah, this MUST be a size issue since SSBB, Boom Blox 2 and many other games including Dewy's Adventure for cripes sake allow you to download extra levels (usually user created but EA is making new levels for BB2 downloadable).

If the levels are beyonds Nintendo's limits for file size (which is likely) then the only way I can see around that is if Activision supplies it's own 2gb 'CoD' SD card with every game. The CoD SD Card would have an extra level on it and unlock the downloadable material. That would be a simple solution that Nintendo might accept. An extra $5 on the purchase price ought to cover costs for Activision who would then make extra money selling more levels.

If this is such an issue and the later content is that extensive, why not just sell it as an expansion pack on a new disk. They did that with United Offensive which was sold as an expansion pack to COD on the PC. It had to have been the greatest "expansion pack" ever. I liked it more than the original game.

My heart will be broken if MW2 isn't released on Wii.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

Hmm, well Modern Warfare wasn't on the Wii either so I don't see the sensation even if this is true tbh. I guess it depends on what type of game MW2 will be.

Let's try a pic that isn't trying to look bad.

That looks very similar to the Xbox 360 version...

I won't say anymore as i have been threatened with banishment.

Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that is most definately not a Wii screenshot.

Good catch on Undying's part.

I call BS.

 Twilightman on Gametrailers

The whole problem with this is it's February. That means that the game is coming in 7-9 months, well past the point where they could say whether or not they're doing a Wii version. Unless this is relatively old news that your friend is passing along, i don't think they would say "oops, well, if we can't make this feature, we can't make the game, so let's just flush all that time and money we spent on this version of the game up to this point down the drain"

Clarification is needed, or else this is highly improbable

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

^^^^ Really good point. If this game was under development it would have to have been started months ago. This is old news, or it is wrong. Of course that still doesn't mean one way or another.

This does sound like BS to me. There are plenty of games that have downloadable content.

The one problem I see is that RDBRaptor mentioned that one of the map packs on the 360 was around 400 MB. That would be almost all of the Wii's internal storage. It sounds to me like Infinity Ward might want something that the Wii can't do. Maybe that's their lame excuse to not make the game.
