Forums - General - My very first accident!

So, I was on my way to school today when this lady pulls out of an intersection (not yeilding at the stop sign) and bashes the back end of my car. My car does a complete 180, goes into the ditch, and slides back a few yards.

The lady got the ticket for not yielding, and her insurance will cover the cost of the repairs on my car (her car just had a few scratches). Unfortunately, the thing is just totaled. The back end is completely bashed in, the frame has been twisted, the front was torn up by the weeds and undergrowth in the ditch, the passenger side door won't open, the dashboard has fallen apart, and the rear view mirror isn't connected to the car anymore. Even before the accident, the thing was a POS, it made lots of weird noises, some of the windows wouldn't work, and it was always having engine problems.

I'm out of a car now; so much for the Crown Victoria being a tough car (though maybe the fact that it's a '96 model and both my sisters drove it has something to do with it). My parents are looking for a new one, but I dunno if we can afford one right now.

In case any of you are wondering, I'm doing pretty well, I just got a swollen lip from the air bags (one of the few things that worked on that car), some of my fingers have been torn up a bit, and I'm sore as hell with a headache to top it off. It could have been a lot worse though, if I had a smaller car, it probably would have flipped over.

Also, some background info about the area and conditions; it was about 8:40 in the morning (late start in school today), the sky was clear, and I was headed west down a dirt road in my neighborhood going about 30 mph. My car is kinda dirty, so it can be hard to see, but she should have seen me coming.

So, yeah. Just felt like sharing how my day started with you guys ^_^

What kind of car was it? (yours and hers)

That sucks man. Glad you're OK. Like you said it could have been worse.

Don't Worry.....Be Happy

Sorry man.

@ Snesboy; I had a Crown Victoria, and she was driving a Chevy Tahoe.

@ everyone else; thanks, I'm doing well. I'm just really sore today. We've sent the report to the insurance company, and we'll get a bit of money back for the car, so I'm hoping getting a new one won't hurt my wallet too bad.

That sucks, hope your ok

The title made me think you wet your pants lol.

Anyway I hope you are ok.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Glad you're okay, dude!

Look on the bright side, you're going to have have a car that's better than before when the insurance pays up. It could have been worse as well; two cars that i bought i had the wheel fall off while i was driving. First time i got it to simply crash into a hedge at the side of the road, but the second time was at speed and the car flipped over and i woke up with my legs through the windscreen.

Hehe, thanks guys...
@ Signalstar; nope, my boxers survived the crash completely fine. I haven't had that kind of accident in like 10 minut...errrr years! I mean years! ^_^

lol, just messing, thankfully I grew out of that type of "accident"when I was like 6 or 7.

@ ZZetaAlec; yeah, I'm getting new glasses too, since they got trashed pretty bad. That's nice, because I was just talking to my mom about getting new ones the day before the accident. I'm also getting a new phone out of the deal, since mine is out of minutes and got kinda beat up in the crash (my backpack didn't fare as well as I did). Only problem is I won't be getting a whole lot from the insurance; I'm hoping for about $2,000. and that really sucks; did you break anything? (other than the windscreen ^_^)
