RE2 was released, on PS1, N64, PC, DC and GC.
RE3 PS1, PC, DC, GC.
RE1 (original) PS1, PC, Saturn.
RE: CV on DC (in 2 versions), GC and PS2.

If you are gonna compare at least stick to either individual console sales comparisons or total sales for all games.

 

because other versions of RE didnt sell really well... DC versions bombed hard, GC versions too

I think Need for Speed sold better this gen, unless I'm mistaken, can't think of any other franchise of the top of my head.

Sold worse than last generation.  Underground on the PS2 alone sold over 7 million.

I sure it will. RE4 Wii was that game's third release. Despite competition from the 360's version, the PS3 version of RE5 should have strong sales (if reviews don't put out the fire).

Is RE4 Wii's sales numbers overtracked? They don't seem to correspond with the numbers Capcom has released.

I can think of a few... they all include Mario though.

Yeah, I mentioned that in one of my first posts in this thread (about Ninty 1st party). MGS4? Dunno, but MGS3 did considerably worse than MGS2 though so the number to beat in order for the series to be on a rise would be attainable at any rate!

It should be able to do it, New Iteration of one of the most popular franchises in history against a port of a game from previous generation that has been arleady on 2 systems. I think PS3 version will easily top the RE 4 Wii (which sales are really amazing for a port), Japan wont be big, because RE is no longer a massive franchise there, especially now with the game more oriented towards shooting elements as ever.

But 360 version will outsell it.
