Yeah. True. Maybe they won't learn, but a loss like they had last quarter can certainly shift your priorities.

Didn't stop my enjoyment of the PS3 version. RB2 is still the better game.

| BMaker11 said: I read this on Joystiq, and for Dead Space, the EA guy said: "A good example of this is Dead Space. We're bringing a Wii title to the market this year and it is absolutely going to be the quality and fear factor that you got on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC SKUs this past year" ...yeah..just like Dead Rising Wii will have the same amount...or at least a large amount of zombies on screen, and a camera mode....oh wait.... Now this is going to get Wii fans all wriled up "We told you 3rd parties would finally start moving over!" etc.....I'll just sit back and wait until they talk up crappy port #85 and call it proper 3rd party support as a talking point |
Yeah, it won't be the same game but at least they get it, I guess.
Ports are better than nothing, for sure, but it's not the support people have been saying would happen.
Even though I read the articles, I am still not convinced.
I am looking up to what Deas Space can be like on Wii, but I do not have my hopes up like I did with Dead Rising. I know they are completely different games and the number of foes in DR are much more, but I prefer expect little and be surprised than be hyped and be dissapointed.
Then we have Need for Speed: Nitro, a game I am very affraid of. Ubisoft promised a lot just like them and we end up "Imagine" ing a lot of "Z"s.
I am a believer when the evidence is shown. Games are what makes me believe thay are trully working (SEGA, MMV, HVS, Platinum).
Until then, I give the benefit of the doubt

its not even confirmed to be a good or a bad game.
Its DEAD SPACE man, Ign are reporting
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

i like your optimism soriku, i wish i was 13 again
Yippee! I haven't bought the PS3 version yet because I didn't like the aiming and $60 felt like too much. This solves both my problems. Even if it's a direct port, I'm picking it up.
@Soriku
Technically Dead Rising hasn't been confirmed to be a good or bad game yet either. I'm keepin' the hope alive!
And also lol @ the butthurt people in here trying to knock down the announcement.

Heh, we'll see how the year plays out =)
Could be that EA releases the good 50% on 360 and PS3.

Forget quantity, this makes it seem like quality will increase...

It does? In terms of promising higher quality for Wii, I've stopped listening to third parties.
Here's what I can think of as notable changes/new games for Wii from EA for 2009.
-Wii/DS exclusive "arcady" version of Need for Speed.
-NASCAR Kart instead of NASCAR 09
-MySims Racing and MySims Party
-Dead Space
-EA Tennis
-EA Sports Active
The proof is in the pudding, and this is what I can pick out as new for '09 so far. I'm not saying these changes are good or bad.
So I guess now we can only sit back and watch how things develop.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
