Haven't played some still, can buy and play on PS2.

The DS is already a powerhouse RPG system. Wii will soon be, especially with the amazing line up this year.

Right I would like to know what JRPG are releasing which will make the Wii a "JRPG powerhouse" this year, many people saying it on this forum and all that I can think of the the FF spin off and a flag ship TO game.

That does not make the console a JRPG powerhouse, DQ X will do it but if that one releases before 2010 I will rip my balls off. Console JRPG are pathetic, it would as easily be argued that FFXIII and Versus will make the PS3 a JRPG powerhouse which simply shows how poor this gen has been for console JRPG.

BTW MH3, sales =/= quality is the definition of the MH franchise.

Oboro Muramasa, Kizuna, Arc Rise Fantasia right off the bat.

"RPG"?

WTF the MH series is badass!  It's unforgiving as hell and tries to make you take the time to learn each monster and the best way to fight them which you'll end up loving it otherwise you fall by the wayside and hate it.

And there's a decent list of RPGs here http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=2811

If you want RPG buy a DS or 360. Soon the Wii will be flooded so go to either one of those console. Or go back and get a PS2 has tons of RPG.

PSP has tons of GBA ports.....so no.
PS3...no support at all.

Ah, Forgot Rune Factory Frontier, dammit.

OT: 5 for PS3 and 10 for PSP. 5 for PS3 because I prefer a physical copy.

PSP has a lot too. Lots are PS1 remakes and ports, but it's a great option too.

PSP has a good selection of original RPGs. A ton of upcoming RPGs in Japan as well...

Wii JRPGs in 2009:

Arc Rise Fantasia
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Fragile
FFCC: The Crystal Bearers
FFCC: Echoes of Time
Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga

Rune Factory Frontier
Kizuna
'Tales of Ten'
Possibly, "Sword of Legendia"

WiiWare:
Sorcery Blade
Discipline

And obviously Dragon Quest later on.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

mmmmm

If you really are a hardcore RPG gamer, the DS is the best option this gen.

Upcoming PSP RPGs off the top off my head:

Ape Escape RPG
Tales of the World 2
FFXIII Agito
Kingdom Hearts
Brandish
Disgaea 2 Portable
Persona
Parasite Eve
Cardboard Senki (Level 5)
Ushiro (Level 5)
Harvest Moon: Sugar Village
Zill O'll Infinte (Koei)
Mana-Khemia Portable
Narisokonai Eiyuutan (Irem)
Class of Heroes (Atlus)
.hack/link

All GBA ports, apparently.

There are very few old RPGs I'm interested in. I'm looking forward to some of the new ones that are coming to the Wii in 2009. I tend to limit how many I buy since they are so long, so I'll be waiting to see some reviews.
