Is there any chance for Sony to beat Microsoft in 2009 ?

If they do a $100 prioce cut by Aug they they will sell more consoles in the US then Microsoft for 2009. But that is not going to happen, so the answer is 'no'.

Realisticly - yes

In my opinion - no

I am assuming you are referring to the consoles specifically, and not profits, or hardware in general. In spite of the vague nature of your question the answer is very likely no. Sony's console will not have more total consoles sold then Microsoft by the end of the year. Sony will not sell more consoles this year. Sony will not move more software then Microsoft this year. Sony will probably not even have the highest selling title this year. Sony will not bring in more profit then Microsoft this year. The only victory that remains reasonable is a moral victory.

Which is not a true victory. Basically even if Sony loses all of the above. Sony could still win, by not being utterly mangled. The victory comes from being reasonably close, or managing to win a few weeks. Which means the console could hold its ground somewhat. However I think the console is going to start a sagging trend. Which is troubling. This year corresponds to Microsoft's sagging middle of last year. Were that to happen even the moral victory could become exceedingly elusive.

Simple answer its not very likely, and I doubt you are going to find many that will argue against that. Those that might will probably have to stipulate a major change in the consoles presentation. Such as a price reduction. Even though it is exceedingly unlikely given the financial situation at Sony, and the current economic climate.

if a price cut happen very likely it will.

It will take a price cut and for all the potential huge titles to actually be huge in sales.

No, there is not. PS3 is already too far behind and will only fall behind further if something drastic isn't done.

yes if they introduce a 100 dollar price cut before July...otherwise no
