Wow, MontanaHatchet, the guy called you a moron and he still hasn't been banned. I admire your modship my friend. I'd most certainly have banned him by now if I had the power. I can't stand people who resort to personal attacks when they can't drive their points home

You spoke too soon. Actually I didn't see the edit until just about now, but I wasn't going to ban him for just that. I only banned him because he had no good arguments and it would have just been constant flaming from him.

Glad he got banned eitherway. It's pretty obvious that he won't last long on the site.

Xbox 360

1. Isn't GTA4 DLC $15 or $20? it something expensive like that so not many people are going to get it. Especially if you've seen the number of used copies of GTA4 sitting on store shelves that got returned. Blockbuster wouldn't even take my copy of GTA4, luckily EB games did.

2. Star Ocean 4 is no big deal. I bet it will be one of those games thats popular on this site because most of you are big gamers, but won't do well. Like Valkyrie Chronicles. It was mad hyped on this site but no one bought it.

3. Halo Wars should do well. I really have nothing negative to say except its RTS. The only other RTS i can think of is Tom Clancy's Endwar which is a good game but only 600,000 sales I think. I'm sure the name Halo will sell some copies, but Tom Clancy is a big name too.

Playstation 3

1. Killzone 2 should sell a bunch of copies on hype and good reviews alone, and it will depend on how good it is if word of mouth will give it good legs or not. It's not a huge series, with Killzone 1 selling about 2 million. And theres no accurate numbers for Killzone Liberation PSP.

Wow that was like watching an angry man arguing against a patient man with a gun. Epic I loved it.

I dont get why people want KZ 2 to not be successful. If it gets successful reviews people will go on how it sells like crap or if it sells well and gets subpar reviews, they will call it a crap game.

If anything KZ 2 deserves stellar success across the board. It was in development for years by a small Dutch studio. It shows that they worked very hard and put all their hearts into it and took the much negative comments on the orignal KZ to the heart.

^This. KZ2 is the best thing to come out of the Dutch game dev scene yet people just want to hate it because others are excited for it. The most annoying part is that most people who hate the game don't have a ps3 so the game has nothing to do with them. It looks to me that many are just desperate to tout the "360 has better games" or "highest scores on metacritic =360" mantra for the rest of this console cycle lol.

Who cares about this kind of stuff? Real gamers just want to play great games and don't spend time bashing things they know nothing about to oblivion.

What you just described is the 'Halo' effect.  There is no getting away from it.

As many people are saying Killzone 2 was never going to be a big system seller, fanboys on gaming sites say it will be and then we have a snowball affect.

How will internet forum hype make its way to the average consumer that doesnt spend time on gaming forums? lol cmon.......

Even if it were true, those people would walk into a store, see the $400-$500 price.........and half the people will then and there either walk away or see what the 360/Wii offers.

The PS3 price is keeping its AAA games from really being system sellers.

Read my post again, I said it will not be a big system seller but fanboys on gaming sites make it the second coming of Jesus. Killzone 2 will not sell systems but what it will do is sell very well, with Killzone 2 I see a game which will sell 4M LTD but not sell many systems.

If, sorry when Sony fuck up advertising again word of mouth will give the game legs, much like COD 4 did. I enevr paid much attention to games before, then a friend told me that COD 4 was awesome and I went and purchased. If the Beta and early reviews are anything to go by then the same will happen with Killzone 2.

The hype for Killzone 2 is almost that of MGS4. I don't think your prediction is too far off, whether it will deserve it or not. Plus, it looks like Call of Duty: Killzone from a consumer stand point, and that'll sell it fine. If Sqeenix made Star Ocean LOOK like FF then it'd probably sell a good bit off of that fact. Which I'm actually thinking they did do :P. Now all they need to do is market it like a Final Fantasy.

My friends dont care much for gaming but all own a PS3 due to GT5 however they are suckers for shiny graphics. A good ol' advert showing the pretty graphics and you will be amazed how many people will be suckered in to buy it. Even Sony cannor screw this one up with there adverts, just some gameplay will be enough for people to buy the game.

Most game commercials use cgi and people dont buy them due to the graphics. The J man isnt saying that killzone 2 will use cgi but the casuals still havent realized that most of todays games graphics are in-game. Killzone 2 will not sell stictly because of graphics.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

So how long have you been on the internet again?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Again, Killzone 2 won't move hardware. It'll just be good for PS3 owners. In fact I don't think any of those games (except Star Ocean) will move hardware.

SO will move hardware in Japan, but not in the US or Europe.

SO4 will not do half the numbers Yakuza 3 does in Japan, I can bet on that :P

Yakuza is very big there, would have been fun for both to release at the same time but no matter, only a one week difference between the two and Yakuza 3 adverts have already started.

I don't think that these three exclusive titles will completely negate a sales boost in favour of the PS3, irrespective of dwarfing advertising campaigns or brand recognition of the 360 titles. Killzone 2 is bundled in Europe, so theoretically bundles should move more consoles. It's still a good strategy by MS that will likely hinder some momentum that Killzone 2 would have had should they not be synchronized releases.

I beg to differ VC had no hype. It had one thread of a user who thought the game was good and was telling people about it. Also VC is very niche compared to SO.
