Congrats to OP and awesome to Onxy.

Uncharted does look top notch though, sadly you MUST have an HDTV running @ 1080p to truly notice how big the gap is its UNREAL.

Btw Onxy whens are warkhawk crusade gonna start buddy?

I'm good for tonight. I'll probably get on in less than an hour.

@Spartan-LBP is a game I want. It's one of two from last year I do want to pick up eventually, Valkyria Chronicles being the other. Unfortunately I have three games I want more in the next two months (Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5) so they both have to wait.

Burnout and Motorstorm are nothing alike, but they're both good racers. They're my favorite two on the market right now. Burnout is much much better though.

About right.

How can you honestly condone him getting LittleBigPlanet and Valkyria Chronicles AFTER Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV, and Resident Evil 5?

Ooo...you better learn your place. Onyxmeth will do what he wants! I have five minutes of seniority over you!

Oh it was complete sacarasm makingmusic. He is throwing away two amazing games for RE4: HD? Bleh.

Unless you have a full HDTV 32 inch + (And a bit belower would work) you cant fully appritiate most gfx games

As for lag, God damnit XD almost everyone in vgchartz has said PSN is slow to load etc, i download for a long time. SOME EVEN WRITE : Im downloading the system update 2.bla.

I have 100mb/s in dl and upl i downloaded star wars the force unleashed that was 1122 mb or something in like 10 mins, the system updates usally goes so fast i cant even watch a tv commerical fully, Then installing ofc takes a bit more time but not the dls. The web browser is quicker then most of my friends PCs LOL. Although my PC > Ps3s web browser but yet its really fast and ill mostly be there instead of turn my pc on when reading stuff as forums.

and i suggest you get : mgs4, lbp. Those are a must XD, Then there are other great games but the one above ( with uncharted ) are a must! xD congratz.

I agree with the slow PSN service and web browser. Seriously I use an ethernet cable and demos/updates take ages.

I also agree on Uncharted visuals. Pretty good, but some strange light effects & mediocre grass textures

Good buy. You may still like your wii better now, but at the end of 2009 you'll be McLovin your PS3.

Now to some things I don't like:

1. Content-It's just not there. There are less demos on PSN by a wide margin. A lot of PSN games don't have demos and I find that to be a bit odd. Every XNA and XBLA game has a demo mandatory and I would have expected Sony to make them mandatory also. Guess not.

3. Downloading-It's takes forever. It took my over an hour to download the 2.1 patch for MGO today, and that was all for naught, so it was especially annoying. Demos take a good 40 minutes for approx 700MB-1GB of demo. That's before the install, which I find to be very annoying. If I go away while my PS3 downloads demos, I'll still need to sit through an install process, which is like 4 minutes itself once I'm back. Couldn't that have all been done in one fell swoop?

Overall though, these are minor things, and don't take away from what really matters, which is kicking ass in Warhawk. Warhawk rules!

1. I'd rather the games come out faster than requiring them all to have demos. Reviews are usually more telling than demos, anyway, because demos are a very small sample. LotR: Conquest was a fun demo/beta...

3. As someone else said, the MGO patch is Konami, not PSN. Demos download at my max internet speed most of the time, so I'm not sure what your issue is. Also, if you don't download in the background, the demo will install automatically after it downloads. It doens't do that with background downloads so you can keep downloading instead of installing at the same time (which is possible but both slow down).

1. Well if having no demos meant PSN had more content it may be more forgiveable, but there are almost three times as many games on XBLA and they all have demos. Plus there's the problem that they can't be rented, so it's either demo it or just dive right in. Luckily there are some PSN games that have demos, and when I get my PSN cards, those developers that took the time to make one will be the one's I look towards to purchase.

3. I'm just going to time a demo or two between my two consoles and see if I get a difference. I've never DLed the same demo twice, so maybe I've just had a run of bad luck on my PSN with demos that DL slowly. I still don't get the reasoning for needing an installation process. Even with background downloading, that could have been put into the download itself.

Oooo...I'll put some first thoughts here too since I've been asked a lot lately.

I really love all my games so far. Motorstorm Pacific Rift is excellent, but it has that online setup I hate. Still very fun though. Competition online in ranked matches is fierce.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is fantastic as I expected. I'm in the beginning of Chapter 3, which is the first time I'm getting a little annoyed with this tailing the resistance guy bit, but the story is awesome. Plus Otacon finally gets some! MGO I haven't even tried yet, because the setup to get in is worse than using Friend Codes on Wii. Seriously Konami, shame on you for your bullshit online process. I've got enough games to play online anyways.

Warhawk is perfect. I didn't expect it to be my favorite. I just found it cheap at Walmart for $30 with the headset so I scored it on a whim. It's one of the best onlines I've ever experienced.

Now to the system itself. The XMB is nicely setup. I'm familiar with it because of my PSP. Free themes are awesome. I've got some big boobed chick from PAIN and she's got her ass haning out of a pair of daisy dukes. She moans when I click on an option. Very nice!

Guess not.

2. Mailbox-Maybe I'm just a dummy and I don't see, but there doesn't seem to be any notice that I have new mail. Sure I get a quick pop-up when it comes in, but if I'm away or my kid is watching a DVD on there, which is often, I'll need to go into my mailbox to see if I got mail. On top of that, you get no indication on which have been read and which haven't. They don't bold and unbold the titles to help tell the difference.

Couldn't that have all been done in one fell swoop?

metal gear online its on konami servers the patch it's always slow but it's due them not the psn, its slow,i only have 2mpbs i max out my speed with psn.

i get 1000mb in less than a hour.

demo have to be installed, themes not, unless you are using a usb stick.

 Naughty little liar

(200 x 60) x 60 = 720MB

In reality you will get nearer 500mb because I'm on 8mbit and that can do 2GB an hour when "maxed out" downloading at full speed on usenet, which genuinely does max out your connection.

Dirty little fanboy needs a good spanking.

@ Baggins )

well, the real calculation is 2mbps = 2048kbps 8bit=1byte -> 2048kbps/8 = 256KBps -> 256KBps x 60s/m x 60m/h = 921,600KBph / 1024 KB/MB = 900MBph

while you are correct with multiple of your statements:
- I) he can't get 1000MB in an hour (I guess he ment megabyte and not megabit, which is what he wrote)
- II) even the theoretical max speed likely won't be reached, so 700-800MB per hour is more likely

you still shouldn't call him a "liar" (especially with your incorrect calculation)

I don't get it, why is everyone concratulating him for getting a ps3 when he clearly doesn't really like it.

I mean, Wii! better than PS3!.

 EDIT: just jokin

First thing I noticed: it's shiney. Looks very sleek and fancy. Love to look at it.

me too

Yeah it is pretty but the earlier 60g and 20g had a chrome trim finish and had chrome trim underneath the usb ports as noted in my pricing history thread

Be careful wit it wen putting things in the usb ports and cleaning it it does get scratched pretty easily

Wat did u pay for it my guess it 460+tax
