well, the real calculation is 2mbps = 2048kbps 8bit=1byte -> 2048kbps/8 = 256KBps -> 256KBps x 60s/m x 60m/h = 921,600KBph / 1024 KB/MB = 900MBph
while you are correct with multiple of your statements:
- I) he can't get 1000MB in an hour (I guess he ment megabyte and not megabit, which is what he wrote)
- II) even the theoretical max speed likely won't be reached, so 700-800MB per hour is more likely
you still shouldn't call him a "liar" (especially with your incorrect calculation)
