Forums - Nintendo - Trading my PS3 for a wii (need game advice)

Well then, I definitely recommend at least the following single player experiences:

Resident Evil 4 (even if you've played it before)
Sam and Max: Season One (if you like point n' clicks)
Zak and Wiki (ditto)
Metroid Prime 3 (a more lenient FPS, so you can ease into the controls. Trust me, you'll love 'em)
Batallion Wars 2 (psuedo-RTS)
Trauma Center (either one)
De Blob (fun, but flawed, platformer)
Castle of Shikagami (shoot-'em-up)
Blast Works (SHMUP)
Chocobo's Dungeon (Rogue-like)
Pinball Hall of Fame (if you like pinball)
Tiger Woods '09 (if you like golf)
Pro Evolution Soccer '08 (if you want to see a sports game done RIGHT)
Skate It (in the unlikely event you've found a balance board)
Shaun White (ditto)
No More Heroes (bloody beat 'em up)
Endless Ocean (a very soothing game...)
Fire Emblem (SRPG)
Wario Land (2D platformer!)
Monster Lab (surprisingly fun RPG)

This list has enough variety that something in it should interest you at least a bit. If you have questions about any of them, or want more suggestions, or want to hear about multi-player titles, just let me know.

@coolestguyever: Please refrain from posting that type of stuff in this thread. You've got hundreds of others to post that in: it's not really needed here. Thank you.

P.S. I enjoy games that are geared more towards adults.

Okay please don't call me a troll, but doesn't what you just said defeat the purpose of getting a wii? If you want more adult games keep your PS3 or get a 360.

but anyways I guess for "Adult" games get No More Heroes, and wait for the Conduit/Madworld.

I own both a PS3 and a 360, and if you had read my original post you would see I just traded temporarily.   But to be honest, I have had more fun playing this Wii than I ever did my PS3, even though the games I have played are not exactly geared  more towards me or adults.   Luckily enough for the PS3 it has Blu-Ray. :/

Yes, I will get it back in a month or so.  Unless we both decide we want to trade for good.

I doubt I will want to keep the Wii, because I want to try Killzone2.

Do you just use the wii mote for the light gun?  How exactly does that work?

The best example would probably a laser pointer. But it works like a dream. After using it for a FPS would make you wonder why did we every use the two analogs. Well except for the wii haters. Some of them still can't admit the wii-mote is better for FPS.

I will have to try it on a FPS, it seems a little strange or unfamiliar to me at the moment though (lack of playing).  Hopefully it isn't when I am playing the game.

At the very least rent Call of Duty World at War and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 if you want to see what FPS games should be on a console.

I think a PS3 or 360 console + Wii is a better combo and compliment each other much more then PS3 + 360, that's my two cents.

As most have said Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, No More Heroes, Resident Evil 4, Smash Bros Brawl, Okami, Mario Kart Wii, World of Goo, Metroid Prime 3, Zack & Wiki, Sin and Punishment (VC), Mario Strikers Charged, Super Paper Mario, PES 2008, Skate it, Shaun White (both only if you got a balance board), Trauma Center, De Blob, and Lost Winds are must plays among others.

Long list but no matter what kind of gamer you are there's something there for you.

You can get 15 Wiis if you trade in your PS3.

A lot of good suggestions. Don't get Boom Blox.

If you are keeping it for a month, then definitely try out House of the Dead: Overkill and Deadly creatures.

Get Boom Blox. It's a great local multiplayer game.

The bounding box turning takes a little getting used to, then it feels great. Be sure to crank up the sensitivity settings on any game you decide to play for the best experience. Try out Metroid Prime 3.

Just remember that the key to good pointer control is to rest your wrist on your knee while you play. It stabilizes your aim and your arm won't get tired from holding up the controller all the time.

I did not like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Maybe I didn't play it enough, but battles were slow and generic and moving your characters was a pain. It's not an RPG. In all actuallity, there are no real RPG's on the Wii.

It's really too bad you can't get a balance board -- Shaun White snowboarding (or even Skate It) on the balance board looks like it would be a blast.

Most of the good games for the Wii are comming out in 2009 or beyond, but there are certainly some good games out now.
