Forums - General - Love is a lie

@bursche - yeah, the maturity level can play a big part, but sometimes hard to gage, as I've known older girls who are less mature than my current gf, who is several years younger. Sometimes even 30 yr old women dont know what they want.

You need to sit her down and tell her to choose her old life or a new one, but she cant have both. She either needs to bury her ex, or be stuck forever. If you let her sit on the fence, you won't have her entire attention. If she can't do that, then you're better off grabbing a couple cases of beer, having some down time with some buddies, and regrouping yourself.

Thanks, you're advice so far is the best. Because its actually what I plan to do. Today I'm going to try everything I can to save it, and if she still cant choose me then its done. I wont talk to her until I'm back to normal. And to do so, I plan to get plastered.

No problem. Been there many many times. Just make sure of one thing - never call her while drunk. Bad things are said and/or your resolution is shattered by booze.

Long distance works. It only fails to people who don't love each other enough. If they really did they would have the patience and comprehension to wait for each other, because in the end, it's worth it!

I've been in one for 1½ year now (Canada-UK, very far), going very well and I'm engaged. It's just a matter of if you really love someone you're willing to do anything for them. If you're not then I doubt it's really love.

Anyway, all that to say that maybe they didn't love you enough. Get over it and try to find someone else. They weren't worth it. And love exists. Just many people confuse it with liking someone.

Yep its time for the long days of "getting over it". Like its that hard. I have handled this a heck of a lot better than I wouldve ever expected. At least in the future there's the possibility of friendship.

Spoken like a real man.  Good luck, Bursche.

Hilarious drama though. She texts and says for me to give her a few days to think about everything. I told her I might not be here waiting when she decides.

Any advice now?

Don't fall for that!

You has to realize that relationship is over.

It's immature and nasty of her to text those things because that will give you (false) hope which will just prolong the pain.

If you have IRL friends, now is the time to go out. Not necessarily to go out and drink beer, but to just talk n hang with them - that's my main recipy to get over a chick fast(er).

Don't be afraid ot beat yourself up once in a while. It means you are human and you will feel all the stronger when you get through it. Breakups suck Break ups over the phone are brutal.

Live and you will eventually get over it you are young and your heart will never leave you(unless you sffer heart failure which can occur alongside a broken heart).
