I'm going to be an optimist, just because there's so much negativity here -.-
First week: 800k-1 milllion
Lifetime: 4.5-5 million
Why would Sony NOT advertise this? Do you have any idea how much they've spent developing it? It probably makes LBP's dev budget look like pocket change.

That line could've been used for just about every big game Sony has released thus far this gen. Yet look at the fate of Uncharted, Resistance 2, and LittleBigPlanet.

Whose side are you on? >.>
Seriously, though, KZ2 has a MUCH higher dev budget than any of those games. Hell, I'd be willing to wager it cost more than all three of those put together.
And they advertised LBP like there was no tomorrow. It sold very well, but it didn't sell the volumes an FPS would sell, because it's niche. Resistance 2... nobody really cared about that game. It released two weeks away from a Call of Duty, in a season packed with excellent games, and it was very good, but very good isn't good enough for a holiday season.
So you're another one of those people that thinks LBP and R2 sales > KZ2 sales?

They did advertise LBP a good amount, I'll give them that. It wasn't very good advertising, though. But then, LBP is just a hard game to market. The premise of the game really makes no sense until you play it. However, they completely dropped the ball with Uncharted.
As for the bolded, unlikely. See my reasoning here.

Wow. MGS4 cost 70 million to make? Even then, though, they made a tidy profit.
Well, even if it didn't cost as much as LBP, R2 and UDF put together, it definitely cost more than any of those games separately.
LBP is a hard game to market, KZ2 is a piss easy game to market. Show some blood, some shooting, and a few Helghast face shots, with the glowing orange eyes, a logo and a release date, and bam, 1 million first week.
I mean, come on. If LBP can make 535k first week, why would Killzone 2 make any less?
This is for those predicting 1.2-1.5M lifetime sales and/or saying it is a sequel to a failed game.
Original Killzone has sold 2M+ LTD from what I know.
Just some food for thought.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

all sony have to do is show that there are guns in this game and they will sell 2 million copies in america! its all about the marketing really. do any of you really think halo would ave sold as well as it did without the crazy marketing? drinks with halo on it, halo posters everywhere? same goes for other games like gears of war.
