well and since you just "admited" that you never played the old gems your whole argument is pretty one sided of course if you only played the current gen fps you will say they are the best you have ever played..

when did I do that, exactly? You always want it to seem that it's a one-sided arguement. I've been playing FPS since Doom 1, which had little story. If you think Halflife wasn't better than older FPS then this arguement is over. Really, your pompous attitude makes is very annoying to discuss anything with.

you know you actually have a interesting way of showing when youre at your wits end.. i dont think you actually believe i think those games are better than half life nor do you believe that the story of doom has anything to do with this.. because since it was one of the first fps of course there is no story but its still an important game..

but you know all that.. then why say i t its just for the sake of having an argument isnt it ? tell me what to you want to archieve with this? and as for being pompous yes guilty as charged.. as for you you have a way of twisting my every word ...

and ..if you have been playing fps since doom.. how come you never played any of those i mentioned.. or actually tried to disprove my theory doing so by talking about what you think about those games

well at least you know you are pompous as you show again in the first sentence before admitting it in the 2nd paragraph.

I just don't understand what you are trying to prove at this point.  You are saying that multiplayer takes away from single player, but there are more developers now and more game types and plenty of great stories out there to experience.  Why does a game have to be in first person?  Why didn't you like F.E.A.R., CoD4, Bioshock, Halflife 2  (ep 2) that have come out recently and had good single player stories?  A lot of people like multiplayer so it's not going to go away, but there are still single player games out there to that are good.  The Darkness was decent and had some unique things (such as watching full movies in game, which some people hate but I liked).

My whole point is I don't understand this nostalgia for old games unless you really just want System Shock 3 and Deux Ex 3 and that's all that will satisfy you.  If that's the case, then I hope you find a game exactly like those.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of games out there that have good single player experiences and millions of people will continue to enjoy them and their multiplayer experiences as well.  Multiplayer is worth hundreds of hours so it's nice for a game to do it well, though.

well you were right about the "i dont understand" part obviously because this discussion was over before you even joined.. to say for the 3rd time.. me an kantor have been discussing this long enough and the others have aknowledged this.. but you fail to contribute anything of value to this discussion and all im doing is feeding your pathetic ego by even bothering to reply.. i encouraged you to actually elborate what your claims are but no .....enough of this if you are too stubborn or inept to see what this is about and keep on twisting my words then find somebody else to reassure you of your superiortiy in internet geek land..because this seems to be all you want

yes i am pompous but i am aware of my flaws you seem to be so ignorant of yours that you have a lot of catching up to do on your personal problems..i dont think my personality flaws could ever be  near as severe as yours ,so dont you scoff at me for being the arrogant ass i am at least im trying to making this a worthwhile discussion , focus less on me and focus on  what others might be interested in..not your manipulative propaganda, have you ever for a second thought about what impression this gives the others who are readin this? its not like youre everybodys darling here.. and i dont think anywhere else so why keep up this behaviour`?

im done with you until you actually to take part in a real discussion instead of twisting my words at every chance you get

"My whole point is I don't understand this nostalgia for old games unless you really just want System Shock 3 and Deux Ex 3 and that's all that will satisfy you.  If that's the case, then I hope you find a game exactly like those"

this,  this shows that you still dont get what im talking about and you never will because you are so stuck up in making assumptions that you dont get to listen to what im actually trying to say

im sure you still wont understand what i mean with all this ,but pat yourself on the back because you obviously "won" this argument.. when what im trying to say is that youre a sad lonely boy who will never be accepted if you keep acting like this

do you remember the first time i bothered to reply to you? you were having your standard 4pages and beyond flame war with some tool and i asked if you two were done feeding your egos..and you replied  something like this : "how can i feed my ego when does not even understand what this is about?"

in other words never drive a internet argument to the point of idiocy we just displayed ^^

holy crap its easy to get honor rank 4 without all the stat padding from bots.

Edit: when i reread that it sounded like i was using bots at first. No what i was trying to say is that since people can't stat pad (with bots at least) i can actualy get a really good ranking. Right now im in the top 1000. I worked my ass off last week to get honor rank 4 and only got 2, now Im not even trying and if keep this pace up I will have no trouble getting it.

Take my love, take my land..

Finally got my hands on the full game today. It's a nice well built game, the single player still has the issues of clinging to cover when I'm just trying to crouch cause of the situation I was in clinging to the wall would mean getting shot to death, and what did it do? clung to the wall and I got shot to death... WOO! Like most people have said the story is nothing amazing, in fact the mom/gay jokes make the script sound like it was written by 12 year old kids.

Campaign aside, MP had a lot tighter controls, lacked the cover system, which if it worked in the campaign I would want it in the MP but since it doesn't I think it's better off, anyway, MP is solid, has a bit of CoD in it with killzone flavor, the only thing that bugs me is the fact you have to unlock everything instead of getting your base set of weapons and things to do and unlocking more. The modes aren't anything new but the way they string them together is, it's a novel idea, kinda creative but not revolutionary.

The stages can be a bit too big even for 32 players, I was on one map looking around for a good minute and a half without seeing any enemies until I randomly was shot in the head by a guy that just came out of their side of the base so likely just lucky enough to spawn at that time.

The MP and SP level designs as a whole leave something to be desired, it's not bad but only a couple of places made me say wow, when thinking about other FPS games and being in awe sometimes of the levels, probably the artistry and the dark drab designs, not sure, but it seems so lifeless to me. The one place that I did think looked amazing was this one MP map with the dust storm raging and the shacks all around, just looked amazing.

In a way, that's good that the large maps are so large. It means you can have a little bit of breathing room compared to trying to stuff 32 players in one of the smaller maps like Blood Gracht. While the bottlenecks will always be bottlenecks, the changing objectives help to focus the action across the map.

I like the level design. The maps look good and there's this cool multiple layer design to them where instead of being primarily flat, there's multiple layers to the maps where action can take place.

once you get the hang of multiplayer you wont feel maps are too large. Infact im happy that the size are different for the maps. they all fit nice for 32 players. Ofcourse this is after you find out where the enemies bases are, and various objectives are located, and people use either squads or tactical spawn points :p

Check out my game about moles ^

That's very true, though probably one of the reasons I couldn't find anyone, it was deathmatch... erm body count... and could hear people fighting every once in a while but never could find anyone and I was on the top part of the level, I guessed people were fighting below so I run down, and find bodies but no one left -_- so I was running around the map trying to find the fight lol.

That's where your mini-map comes in handy unless you're playing with all the hud information turned off.

Hey I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get my PSN info to show up in the stats section of Killzone.com. For some reason when I log in under my PSN id it doesn't update anything. Thanks :)
