There you have why the arcade model its a good option. Your would have to pay for HDD, online and the wifi in the ps3 than you dont need/want. In the arcade you dont have to pay for them. |
It's the cheapiest way into HD gaming. It gives you the options you want. Now, when you look up and see 'Whoa ... I am paying $$$ for this and $$$ for that, you may just end up getting the 60gb 360 or an Elite. The Arcade gets you in the door - the 60gb and Elites are there when you realize you want more.
Guess what - I can play every game - except Splinter Cell - without the HD on the 360. Say you wanna play COD4. Look at the price it would require for you to play it on both consoles. Look at GTA IV - and you realize it's always - ALWAYS cheaper to play multi games on the 360.
There are several folks who want a PS3, but won't pay the cost of admission. That's cool - and I don't want to pay more than I think the console is worth. I bought the 360 for $399. To me, it was worth it. For the PS3, I didn't like the games, and wasn't interested in Blu Ray one bit. I felt it was worth just $300.
Some folks feel the same exact way. The 360 is still growing and increasing its lead on the PS3. And not just the Arcade - but the Premium and Elites - even with the dread RROD cloud - even with pressure from the ex-champ Sony, it's holding its own.
In the end, you can find half of the price of the 360 as change between the cushions of your couch, under your bed, in your whip's ash tray. That's one of the reasons why the Wii and 360 are selling so very well.
