I haven't played many Mario games (in fact, very few of them), so I think that my opinion won't be worth much, but, based on what I played:

Best: Mario Tennis (N64)
Worst: Super Mario 64

I think the best is super mario galaxy, and the worst super mario bros 2 (the one of the onions, that game was awful :S)
