Forums - Sony - First online review of Killzone 2 awards game 4 out of 5

That site gives weird reviews. 3/5 for GTA IV, 4/5 for "Order Up!"

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

 Hells yea! MM you getting in on this right?

I may even start the official thread for it.  ;)

@fry:

That GTA review is for the PC version, which has some insane hardware requirements, if I recall correctly.

 This just in. Sites suck for having one review you don't agree with.

@ starcraft

So Gears 2 isn't AAA either then.  Hmm...

Whilst noting the recent resurgence in your level of fanboyism, I must point out that that is a ridiculous attempt at spinning my comments even by your applied standards.

There's no spin there. You said that KZ2 wasn't AAA in regard to this site giving it a 4/5. This same site gave Gears 2 a 4/5, but as soon as DMJ came in a used your logic, you got defensive

You know why converting scoring system B to system A sucks? It's because while 3/5 is average, 70%-80% is pretty average on the other system. And when you convert 3/5 to that system, it becomes 60% - and that's not so average anymore... It's more like below average. The same goes with 5/5 and 100% - not every 5/5 game is perfect (well, even 100/100 isn't but still ridiculously close).

The Official PlayStation Magazine (US) gave Killzone 2 5/5 stating players "will instantly tag this sequel as a powerful contender for best game of 2009"

would this kind of review even make it onto the reviews section of gamernakings.com? ive never heard of it and im going to wait for reviews from ign and such (i think this game will be in the mid to low 80's)

Pah. They're not even Metacritic approved. And Metacritic doesn't exactly have a strict approval process.

You know, a PS magazine giving a perfect score to one of the most anticipated games for the system doesn't actually say much. Especially that where i come from, these magazines tend to overlook flaws for such games.

I would imply that sentiment to all system mags or maybe I am wrong?

I'd imply this sentiment to almost all magazines and review sites when it comes to hyped games with big marketing budget :D
