I know, right? I've gotta give some credit to FROM Software for once; Ninja Blade was actually pretty fun, at least the demo was. The game seems like a Solid action title that has more in common with DMC then Ninja Gaiden.
The fact that they mapped the dash and block to different buttons is a bit annoying, but the gameplay was solid. Not Ninja Gaiden 2 solid, but as I've stated before, Ninja Gaiden 2 has the greatest action battle system ever invented. Ninja Gaiden 1/black/sigma, not so much...
Graphics were great, actually. Not fantastic, but they actually looked better then Ninja Gaiden 2, which places it pretty high in the graphics department. For FROM Software, they did pretty well to make it work without any slowdown.
The problem I had with the demo is you essentially get through an action sequence of button presses which felt pretty cool to only a single hallway of enemies before you go through another much better action seqence. The run down the side of the building was pretty fun with the twin blades.
The boss felt just like a DMC boss. Ya know, a few different attacks and a pattern to know. It was neat. I had more fun looking at the many polygon count tho, but it wasn't half bad, for a demo boss anyway. :P
The very few VOs in the game were fine.
The dash needs a bit of a finer adjustment. As long as the game is more varied then the demo we have a 8-8.5 game. Otherwise, it'll probably just be a 7-8 game. Maybe even 6.5 if its too repetitive.
Well wut doya think of the demo?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
