Midway did release Mortal Kombat on the Wii.  When I had seen MK Wii, I had originally thought people were talking about that.  But then, Mario Kart became apparent to me as the more appropriate name.  So, what exactly has Mortal Kombat on the Wii been shorted to?

That's a good question. Up until this console generation everytime I saw the abbreviation MK it meant Mortal Kombat. All of a sudden it means Mario Kart. It confused me a number of times.

I have high hopes that this lazy generation can cope with spelling something in full. I highly doubt that the time of someone who is writing on a message board is so valuable that they cannot spend an extra two seconds writing a complete word.

MK Wii.

Mortal Kombat took the MK abbreviation long before Mario Kart.

Well considering there is no game available that's supposed to be shortened to MK Wii in the Mortal Kombat universe, I assume Mario Kart can have it for now. The Mortal Kombat game is called Armageddon.

For now, they're doing things the IBM way. 

That is, they're patenting/copyrighting/trademarking anything that isn't nailed down.  Because.
