Here's what you do:

1. Go to a store and buy a Wii.
2. Go get a friend who knows PCs and let him build you a $500 PC
3. ???? Go straight to 4.
4. WIN

Congratulations, you got the absolutely best combination of platforms this gen.

A $500 PC wouldn't be much of a gaming machine lol  I do know alot about PC's, but I'm lazy and don't feel like buying all the parts and putting them together into a working gaming system.  I won't lie the Wii is fun, but so far, I'm liking my 360 better (not trying to to say one is better than the other, just my opinion)

Thank you for Squialliam's hard work so I don't have to work giving counter exmaples:

PC is cheaper because PC games on average $30 cheaper than console games, and that's not even including the awesome FREE PC games like Quake Live, Battlefield Heroes and Play Auditorium.

We are in an age where the large majority of pre-built PCs and Laptops don't even reach $1000, and upgrading is not as essential as before. Anyone who thinks otherwise is still living in the past.

I see your point, I guess I just came from an age when the technology was advancing so much that anything you put your money into was outdated in a few months and you had to purchase more memory, a better video card, and a better processor in order to participate in LAN parties.

hmmm, I stand corrected lol  I'll admit when I'm wrong, thanks again for the links.

PC's dont have good exclusives though. is Gears of War 2 on the PC? how about Final Fantasy XIII? O.o

Consoles has exclusives that PC just wont get sometimes.

I think tomshardware.com has done a lot of articles showing PCs of different price ranges (from $500 to a couple thousand) and how well they can run the newest games. Ill see if I can find it.

UT2004 is STILL the BEST multiplayer shooter, too bad it's not on consoles. HL2 is STILL the BEST single-player shooter, too abd the port on consoles suck. Keep your turn based "RPGs," when it comes to turn-based strategy (what you call JRPGs) games the PC wins, it would be like comparing a molehill to Everest. Also, SC2 and Diablo 3 are about to rock your world. As well as HL2 Ep 3 (wanna bet the console ports will suck the big one?).

P.S. Keep in mind those 2 builds were done several months ago, therefore they are even cheaper now. Especially with the i7 on the street already.

GeOW2 is coming, just as part 1 did. Theres a big time gap, sure, but at least they still show up on PC.

Whoa...its rare i see true PC fans, didnt mean any offence its just rare for me i dont know how to act.

Uhm....World of Warcraft FTW!!!

PC fans are a rare bunch. Mouse and keyboard just works better than a controller. Playing F.E.A.R. on PC and then playing Resistance 2 soon after just makes matters worse. Its just a small compromise when buying FPS for a console. If im not mistaken though, dont some PS3 games allow for bluetooth mouse and keyboard support?

WoW was pretty cool, had a subscription for a while, but I just had a hard time getting into it.  It's funny, most people say they get hooked on the game and can't stop, I was the opposite.  I'm not saying the game isn't good, I can see why people get addicted, but for some reason, I just couldn't get into it.
