Better to buy a console or a PC for gaming?

We are in an age where the large majority of pre-built PCs and Laptops don't even reach $1000, and upgrading is not as essential as before. Anyone who thinks otherwise is still living in the past.

I see your point, I guess I just came from an age when the technology was advancing so much that anything you put your money into was outdated in a few months and you had to purchase more memory, a better video card, and a better processor in order to participate in LAN parties.
