yes what you say is true but you have to look at this from a general consumer standpoint. Which has a better line-up for all crowds that are easy to pic-up and paly without upgrades or anything special.
This is why the PS3 won.

Your argument is flawed because the average consumer is more likely to play on PC than a Console, and the games being easy to "pickup and play" is not something that should enter into the equation since one of the advantages PC has is that it allows a more complex and varied gaming.
If you're saying specifically about accessability for consumers, I think you'll agree with me that PC is getting more and more user-friendly than ever, and you don't even need to go to the store to buy PC games anymore. And on the other hand PS360 are becoming very PC-like, a "cheaper" imitation of PCs.

Thats the issue, people want wasy controls not complex. Having two objects to control with more buttons to use the an WiiMote and it becomes difficult for a lot of people till they get used to it after several years of doing it.

That is a misconception. People look at RTS and FPS games on PC and think there's too many buttons, but the truth is most of them are simply optional. You are not forced to use hotkeys unless you're in a competitive environment (for example playing an FPS online).
You say alot of people have trouble with the controls on a PC, but how many people have problems with a gamepad? I, for one, absolutely hate gamepads for games except racing games. How many people would complain if you suddenly switched every K+M for a gamepad?
If there ever was a controller that would be named standard, it would be Mouse/Keyboard.

Have you not taken a gander at PC game sales for the last 5 years. PC gaming is on the steady decline and game developers are learning this the hard way. It is far too easy to pirate games for PC, so developers make virtually no profit from it. Console gaming out numbers it 20 fold.

There are over 280 millions PC gamers, PC has more games being developed right now than all consoles combined, NPD said themselves that retail is only a tiny fraction of PC's revenue (30% last year, now it's less).
PC has more exclusives, while consoles are losing exclusives. EA, Activision, Capcom, Square-Enix, etc... are investing on PC now more than ever. Etc...
