Yeah it is annoying.
This year the main games that have been released that were on the famitsu most wanted list were Gundam Musou, Mortorstorm, Dragon Quest Swords, Everybody's Golf 5, and Odin Sphere; while these games have done fairly well there is no direct connection between position on this list and sales performance.

Well Halo was on there a couple of times plus it a Xbox game that doesnt really have a userbase there. If it were biased there would only be Wii or PS3 games.

yahh they made the list a few weeks before release.
FF13 being #2 more then a year before release tells you nothing ?

This must be a new record for "Longest Hus has gone without being banned" ...
Anyways many of the games on the list made it there as soon as they were announced and stayed on the list until they were released; Gundam Musou (for example) hit #1 and remained there until it was released and was called the most important PS3 game in Japan until Final Fantasy 13 was released.
The reality is that the "Famitsu Most Wanted" represents the core Japaneese gamer's tastes and would be similar to a poll made on this website. There are going to be many games that would do fairly well on a poll which (in reality) will not sell particularly well, while games that never get noticed have amazing sales.
Final Fantasy 13 will sell well, it will probably be the worst selling Final Fantasy game of all time but it will still be a multi-million selling game.
I wouldn't really call 45% "domination", especially of a list only 20 long.

Well...people say it`s impressive FF XIII is 2nd when very few stuff is known about it...I say that having Animal Crossing Wii in that list is even more impressive, because there is absolutely nothing known about that game.

Yes same with last remnant, while it looks very good (to me that is) there is very little info about it just like ff13, lost odyssey etc
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B
