ps360 owner has $65 bucks. he is between kz2 and halo wars. thats why every system and every game can take sales away.

Couldn't you say that for any game? PS360 owner has $65, he can buy anything.

The people who are gonna be buying Killzone 2 are going to fall into two main groups, FPS fans and people who bought into the hype. Halo Wars is going to appeal to RTS Fans and Halo lovers. To me, they're not in direct competition.

Halo Wars could detract from the sales slightly, but I doubt it will have any significant effect. I question how many people are gonna walk into the store one day and go "hmm, Halo Wars or Killzone 2"

 

 

yeah like i said in a earlier post, its not going to be anything significant. but it can happen. like me im a fan of all genres and when i walk into a game store i may have a set game to look for but many times i end up getting something else other than the one i intended to.

Killzone 2 will have a good opening weekend...and will have legs if its a great game. No need to argue about this...

There are instances when release dates/windows do matter and they relate specifically to the biggest franchises.

Don't release a JRPG the same day as Finak Fantasy, an FPS the same day as Call Of Duty, a Racer the same day as Gran Turismo etc.

Well, besides that being a commentary on your complete and utter lack of knowledge about the gaming industry in general, which you happen to discuss every day, it also asserts that downloaded titles can't be in competition with retail games, which I disagree with.

Anyway, if F.E.A.R. 2 is anywhere near the first game, then I have very little doubt that it will probably be better than Killzone 2, but why argue against zombie hordes, huh?

 

THIS!  Really... you can make all the excuses that you want for the original killzone, "rushed", "first big title for GG", w/e you want the fact is you had Sony backing the game in a time they didn't need to rush out a game, and not only did it have a lot of issues but the story and voice acting made me die laughing with how horrible it was... more of the same story wise in KZ2? count me out...

what's funny is that an RTS may outsell a giant FPS release.  Personally I hope Halo Wars does way better than Killzone 2... not because it's a Microsoft game, but because it'll help broaden the fanbase for RTS games and maybe push it up a notch.

Yes, they've said FEAR 2 won't be a port, but that doesn't mean it will be any good. Sure, it could be amazing. Anything could be amazing, Demon Souls could be amazing. We just don't have any evidence of it.

Killzone 2 will be fine. It's much more hyped then R2 and according to Beta players it's fantastic.

I only think that RE5 on PS3 will sell worse because of KZ2, not the other way around. But seeing Capcom murdered the series that's not a completely bad thing.
