Guerilla Games: 1st party - Sony owns the I.P and studio making the game.
Insomniac: 2nd party - Sony owns the I.P but the studio is independant.
Epic: 3rd party - Epic owns the I.P and the studio is independant.
Just because Microsoft is publishing the game doesn't make it 2nd party, this isn't your usual studio/publisher relationship.

Because crazy its not going to double its total sales to date in one year in the middle of a recession when its main rival just had a price cut.
