Forums - Sales Discussion - How is VGChartz going to keep track of Warhawk sales?

This question is geared towards ioi. With Warhawk, GTP, Wipeout, and Soccom how are you going to get the numbers on their sales. I know you don't currently have CaC because it is kinda a XBLA kinda game and to this point they have not counted. However these four games are fully fledged games. Is their any way of getting accurate numbers on their sales. I understand that it takes a lot of work to get all of these numbers and apprciate all of the work you do. I just hope you can work somthing out with Sony to get good numbers. Thanks for any info you can give us.

Track retail bundles only.

It will be a fun new argument, it sold this much. No it sold double theres the dowlnaod sales.

Yeah, I imagine it would be hard to track the PSN downloads unless Sony posts those figures somewhere. Tracking retail seems to be the only way to go.

What if it sells 1 million at retail? Then sony annouces its the best selling psn game? Would that mean it sold 2 million?

I honestly hope you don't think that Warhawk will sell 1 million at retail Leo-j.

 On topic though, this is going to be a very intersting issue once all of the online distributed games start to come out. Hopefully there is a good solution to this as well, as we will really need to see the differences between retail and online to get an idea of how the sales are trending.

Is it like everyone thinks Im a dumb idot or something? Bro, it has a bluetooth headset, that head set alone cost around 50buks, it would be very smart to buy warhawk in retail, and I said WHAT IF, keywords.

                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

DLC content will never be tracked by this site. There is too much of it, and its impossible to get any sort of figures for the game.

This is Sony's problem. The charts will only ever show what Warhawk sells as a boxed copy.

(I really can't see WarHawk doing that well - at retail anyway. This sort of game has been around for years on the PC, and it falls into the category of "more of the same" IMO).

 And Halo would have been a more of the same on PC, but this is console gaming.
