Isn't the 16 layered thing being made with Blu Ray Disc anyway?

The format is not HD, and people really forget that Blu-Ray is backed by the Blu-Ray Disc Association founded by some companies like Sony, Philips and guess what?? Panasonic...
And for only $500 a disc!
This can only fail miserably.

2005: HDDVD is the future!
2006: DVD is the future!
2008: Digital Distribution is the future!
I'd rather not spend five hours downloading MGS4, thanks. And buying a massive hard drive to fit 55GB for one game.
This will not get any support from the movie studios..lol
I'm so dead serious, Blu-ray is taking off and studio companies love this format, it's providing them with the right capacity, we do not need a 1920p, 500GB capacity disc media format right now.
That's ways ahead in the future. We let alone need to know that exists. This is straight bull. I hope it fails...
This seems like a joke site. 1920p is the next standard in TV's, tho. It is called Ultra Hi- Definition, but it is a ways off yet! Japan is currently testing them now.
Playing and finishing games first>>>>>>>>>>Then talking!
Opinions are subjective and just like moods, can change.
TOP 12: Deus Ex, Shadow Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturn, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Metroid Prime, Zelda (series), Uncharted (series), FF Tactics, Persona (series), Demons Souls, Vagrant Story.
MOST WANTED: Deus Ex: Human Revolution, The Last Guardian, ICO/Shadow OTC HD
as i posted in the other thread on this, this is a Super HD disc format, most people are only just getting HD tvs, so Super HD adoption is 5-6 years away and this RDM would also need alot of early studio adoption to be viable as a competitor to Sony

1920p (ultra HD) is actually overkill as well. If the effective viewing area for 1080p is 52"+ imagine the effective viewing area of 1920p. 1080p will probably be the highest effective standard for TV's before the world of true 3D is entered. Another area of importance concerning ultra HD and how pointless it is would be the material available in 1920p. Barely any films on blu-ray take full advantage of 1080p and there are no current plans for a mass broadcast of 1080p content in the near future. Compile this onto the already heavy burden of creating 1080p camera systems that film in native 1080p and again we are several years behind. The list of reasons why 1920p and this new format are already failures could go on forever. The only major positive areas for 1920p would probably be medical imaging to limit excessive malpractice lawsuits (which is already a large force behind the push on 1080p TV's with 26-32" screens). But maybe I'm also putting the cart before the horse as well on this topic.
